Excellent noodles! Really well priced and extremely fast service and prep. They make the noodles right in front of you hence the name and the sauce is fantastic A little on the spicier side for most people I think and maybe not the best to eat outside in the hot sun but totally worth it. The lamb was excellent as well as the added protein.
The dry spicy lamb cumin noodles are the very best noodles I’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious and chewy wide flat freshly made noodles. Tons of tender beautifully cut pieces of lamb. A good mix of smaller pieces and thick chunks of meat. Sauce is nice and spicy but not overpowering, it does soak in to the paper bowls they use however which makes it a bit messy. Quick ordering and short time for food to be ready. Would happily visit again.
Personally, the dry noodle is so much better than the soup one just average to me. You’d love it if you are a cilantro + vinegar + oil combo fan. Very fulfilling. There is a bubble tea place on the lower floor, which is where we sat in the photo. The friend who is a big fan and frequent of this shop shared a tip - go there during busy hours. If you go there around close time within one hour till when they close, the quality is not as good.
Tingly & spicy cumin lamb is way too salty. I had it dry, which tastes heavy and over seasoned. I don’t know if soup type would be better. My friend had ‘la mei Taiwanese beef noodle soup’, which is actually different from typical Taiwanese flavor, but less salty than my noodles. Beef slices are inconsistent, some are hard to swallow, some are small pieces. The bar stand look fancy. Noodle is freshly made that you can see from dining seats. Chewy.
December 2022 - Located in Chelsea Market. Long line but went by fairly quickly, waited about 15 minutes to order and another 10 minutes for the food. Not bad considering how packed it was! Food/Pricing - Tingly & Spicy Cumin Lamb - $15.90 - If you enjoy the numbing spicy, this is the perfect dish for you! The lamb portion in this dish was generous totally not complaining and tender! Tingly & Spicy Cumin Beef - $15.75 - The beef was cut into small bits and although the taste was good, the meat was a bit tough for me. La Mei Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup mild - $15.95 - Not the soup taste I'm used to. This version seemed a bit more tomato-y than other beef noodle soups. The beef could be more tender. Service/Ambiance - Quick service! Luckily we were able to find a nice table outside. Parking - We walked to the market so not sure of the parking situation. Overall very enjoyable and highly recommend trying this place!
Their noodle reminded me what I enjoyed before from Xian Famous Food. I’m not Chinese so not sure if they all are come from same Chinese province or whatever? Flat wide noodle with sour and spicy sauce. But it was too oily for me. Sour part of the sauce soothed it but still too oily. Chicken wings were amazing, fried perfectly and seasoned great. There were bunch of fried crispy gralic in it too so very pleasant side kicks for me. But I normally don’t enjoy types of foods that get my hands very dirty, so that was bit of minus. Overall I enjoyed them, but not sure if I’d be willing to visit again, hence 4 stars. . .
Hidden noodle spot.. was told by one of the guys that you can't go wrong with any thing you order and he was right. Favorite noodle spot. Worth the price and it's not even pricey. If you're going foe the cucumbers, be prepared for it being a little Spicer than normal I didn't mind it. Recommended .Food: 5/5
Amazing noodles, at 12.30pm on a weekday there was a huge queue waiting to order. I had the vegan mock duck noodles in soup and it was so good. Really rich and flavoursome with fresh noodles the guys make right at the stand. The only reason I give 4 stars and not 5 is the packaging. We got so much plastic with our food: plastic spoon and forks, plastic containers and plastic bag to wrap it up put in another plastic bag. Food is amazing though if you eat in
First time trying Dan Dan noodles. It was very yummy! We went on a Sunday and the line was so long. About an hour wait end to end. Noodles are fresh, tasty, texture was quite nice and the spicy sauce was great.
Decided to eat here after seeing a line they always said if a restaurant has a line, get in it, right???. WELL I’m so glad I did! These have to be some of, if not THE best noodles I’ve had in my life!! I got the Taiwanese beef noodle soup with a Thai tea! The noodles were so soft and the broth was so flavorful! Also want to give a shout-out to the customer service! They forgot to make my Thai tea, so after I got my food I asked about it. They were super apologetic and commutative! They made it quickly and even gave me an extra for free! How nice will definitely return!!
