Viking Motel

I really don't understand the terrible reviews. The owner was super friendly, even helped me upgrade my room to a 2 queen instead of 1. The price was great compared to other hotels in the area. My room was clean and comfortable. Even had a fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. I didn't expect those kind of amenities for the price so I was pleasantly surprised. Parking was a breeze and felt safe. I liked there was only one way to drive or walk in and out. It made me feel secure. The location is conveniently located near the Masonic temple which is why I booked here as I was going to a concert and this was walking distance. Motor city casino is also walking distance as well as downtown Detroit if ya don't mind about a mile walk. Would definitely stay again if back in Detroit.

It’s a motel, $130 a night when every other night’s stay is much closer to $220+… so it’s not the Taj Mahal, but for the price, it was updated, quiet and pleasant. Had a mini fridge too. The staff was very nice. I’d stay there again.

4 walls and a roof. The cockroach in the bathroom didn't move all night. He was a very respectful cockroach.

Great and convenient place to stay. I like that there are daily and weekly alternatives which gives flexibility for different lifestyles and situations. The rooms are clean and decent for the price, everything is updated. No critters or mice. I know the main concern with motels is bedbugs and this is a place you don't have to worry about here. And this is coming from extended stay not just me being here for a couple days. I love the front desk lady, she is so nice and accommodating. I really don't understand the bad reviews. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because the deposit is high other than that 5s.

Had a room booked for months. Got an email the week of the trip saying it was canceled. Very dissatisfied with the way they handled this, and the fact that they did nothing to ensure the room I had already fully paid for was available to use. Will never spend money here again.

extremely dirty room, very strong cigarette smell inside the room, bathroom with very dirty walls, used towels, dirt all over the room, there is no room service. I stayed for two days and they didn't fix my room, the TV was stained with candy, the coffee maker didn't work, the mirrors were totally dusty and the worst of all was the very strong smell of cigarettes inside the room. I am an extremely allergic person to cigarettes and I got really sick after I left this motel. I do not advise anyone to stay at this place.

Don't go in there it's super ghetto ran down delapidated trash and way over priced because the casino across the street needs to be torn down.Rooms: 1/5

Close to the Motor City. Casino, within walking distance to Little Caesars Arena. Very nice lady at checkin who assured our safety as it looked kind of desolate and yet self contained except for a one car entrance. The room was clean but cold upon arrival but warmed up nicely except for the tile floor in the bathroom.

The bad reviews are from years ago. My parents stayed there yesterday 07/08/2021 and now it is much better. The service is good, the rooms clean and even, they were fixing air conditioners and the surroundings. Don't be swayed by old reviews because they have improved a lot.
