Village Podiatry Centers of St Elmo: Dr. David Anderson

Appointment at 1:30. I did not leave till 4. Their paperwork requirement is ridiculous and even after you fill it all out, I was asked same questions by nurse and Doctor. Before DPM even saw me, I was told I needed X-rays. And had to pay $140 before even saw anyone. The DPM should of at least talked to me and examined my foot. I have been told , no matter what, you have to have X-rays!! Since my condition was soreness, no reason to use X-rays for diagnosing. So, that was my first clue. He told me I had a high arch which he could see without an X-ray. Then proceded to try to recommend numerous things they SELL in the office such as orthotics, a boot to sleep in, an analgesic they mail to you, a shot in my foot and stretches. Oh, and maybe surgery to scare you a little! Well, I said. I would continue taking Aleve and do the stretches, already had orthotic at home. When I got ready to leave, they pushed a paper in front of me so I could agree to have the special creme mailed to me!!! I told him no, but they tried again. In 3 days, with orthotics and stretches and Aleve, my foot was feeling 90 % better. This was conservative treatment, but worked and saved me a lot of money. dr. ANderson is nice, but he was using a shotgun approach for a problem that a few key things could take care of for a whole lot less $$$$$$. Will not go back there and cancelled the two week follow up appt. they told me to make. Believe they might be taking advantage of people who would not think to question them about why. Do not want to pay for things not proven necessarily needed without first basic treatment which worked great.
