Story

Visualeyes is both a statement of ourselves and our desire to provide the best care possible to our patients, both now and in the future. Each person’s diverse background has been brought together under the idea that the way a person looks, and the way a person sees, is equally important. Our closely-knit team strives to build a unique experience of modern professional eye care combined with highly fashionable eyewear. We strive to provide a positive contribution not only to our community, but to all the communities of our patients. Located in the heart of Portland State University's urban campus, Visualeyes brings its fresh style to South Broadway.

Dr. Aker is a licensed doctor of optometry and provides fully comprehensive eye exams to patients of all ages; all manner of eye diseases can be detected and managed, including those caused by diabetes. Dr. Aker provides co-management for eye surgeries such as cataracts and LASIK, as well as treatment for ocular injuries or other eye emergencies. Dr. Aker also offers contact lens fittings at all levels of complexity including astigmatism, bifocal, color and gas permeable. Many of his patients are surprised by the amount of comfort and range of clear vision that can be achieved from wearing contact lenses.
