I had some issues with my A/C not working over a holiday weekend. Emergency maintenance was able to come but wasn’t able to figure out what was wrong & installed a portable air conditioner until maintenance could come during the week. During the week Mike came & was able to figure out the issue and fix it. He was super friendly & professional and was able to accommodate timing with my availability to be home. Overall have had a great experience w/maintenance at Vox thus far!
Overall, I had a positive experience at the Vox on Two for a 6-month lease. The apartments were well take care of, clean, and lots of amenities. There is a package service so your packages are centralized in one area. Parking is a little tight if you drive a larger car trucks and larger SUVs since it's in a garage. It was very quiet, despite being near a main road and I barely heard my neighbors.
I have been with Vox on two since they opened in 2014. Love the place. So quiet. Maintenance people are the best. Most requests are filled within 24 he. Awesome management team. Close to the T, walking distance to Wholefood, trader’s Joe. Highly recommended
I love living here! It is so quiet, safe, extremely clean and spacious. Also, the maintenance team here is so responsive and helpful. They have helped me make my apartment just right every time they come.
I do not believe you are going to find a better apartment building in Cambridge. This is truly a luxury apartment, where you get a better experience for a higher price. Sound: A+. -The only indication I had of neighbors was the faint sound of my next-door neighbor's dog barking, which could only be heard from my bathroom. Incredible. The windows are insanely well made, so street noises are absolutely minimal. Leasing/Management: A+ - I had my security deposit returned to me in full without having to even ask after moving out. An actually ethical apartment manager? I know, I didn't think it was possible too. - Emails are always answered extremely promptly, politely, and professionally. - I had an issue with a double-charge that was resolved within 24 hours with minimal effort on my end. - Any time I asked someone at the front desk for help, they accommodated my request with a smile. Build: A+ - This is an apartment that was built with care and with incredible attention to detail. Everything in the apartment is carefully selected to make it as livable as possible. - Insane amounts of storage. If you need more, you can rent a storage unit near your apartment at a very reasonable rate. - Bath tubs are MASSIVE, appliances work great, the dishwasher can clean anything. My only complaint here is the fridge door sometimes didn't close all the way unless you pressed hard. - Sink faucet pulls out for ease of use, kitchen storage is sizable, interior fixtures for lighting provide ample coverage. - Fireplace can be switched on just by turning on a light switch. Amenities: A - I did not use the pool or movie theater - This is the only place where Vox fell a little short. The gym needs a little bit of love. 3 pieces of cardio equipment were out of commission for 2+ months. When I moved out, 2 were still not operational. - It is not easy to adjust the pully weights equipment. Changing the weight often requires you to push hard, or pull on the cable to try to force it through. You can make it work, but it's not great. - Gym usually has 3-4 other people in peak hours, 0-1 in off-peak. This means it's a little crowded to workout unless you can go during weird hours. -Never had any problems with the trash chutes. It was extremely simple to get rid of trash. Location: A+ - There are INCREDIBLE walking trails right outside of vox. I could not stop going on walks while living here because of all the beautiful areas you can walk to. If you live here, be sure to explore on bike or foot. There are beautiful boardwalks over nature reserves where you will frequently encounter deer, swans, and many other wildlife. Stunning in fall. - Walking distance to the Alewife station. You can also walk to nearby stores, even though it's a bit of a journey. - Super close to 3 grocery stores trader joes, star market, whole foods. For ultimate convenience, I recommend star market's delivery program. - Super easy to drive out of this location. Turn onto acorn park drive to save a ton of time when going west of Vox. I found my commute to Waltham typically took 5-10 minutes less than GPS estimates. -Parking here for guests definitely is suboptimal. I would not recommend these apartments if you envision having multiple guests visit you at a time, as the closest "easy" parking option is at the Alewife station, and the Vox guest parking option is difficult to plan for. Move-In/Move-out: A+ - Leasing was super responsive during move-in, checked in with me constantly, and helped make a stressful day a lot smoother. - Apartment was in great condition with no gotchas. Leasing even warned me before signing my lease that there would be some construction outside my apartment. With the high-quality noise insulation, it was a nonissue, but I appreciated the transparency. - Move-out was simple. I unfortunately had to break my lease early this kills the bank account but it was a very smooth process. Maintenance: A+ - I only made 2 maintenance requests, but they were both completed within 24 hours. Emergency took <1hour.
I enjoyed living at Vox on Two over the past 2 years when I moved to Boston, it was a fairly easy move in with no issues or problems. Appliances all worked well, The staff was friendly and helpful whenever I needed something which was almost never and the amenities and activities they offer to residents make it helpful to get to know your neighbors better. Unfortunately since I moved in the middle of the Covid19 pandemic a lot of these perks were unavailable due to health concerns. Having said all of that, it wasn’t a perfect living experience. For starters I was not a huge fan of the location: its right off of Route 2 and you have to rapidly slow down from 60-70mph to get off into the very small front entrance parking area which could be full of Amazon trucks or moving vans. I’ve had traffic honk at me from behind a few times because there were people blocking the entrance. Also, the walking path going to Alewife behind the building is now fenced off with a small opening which is extremely annoying if you have a bike, a pet or a stroller. There’s no visitor parking available unless you request it with fees. I was also not a fan of the placement of the courtyards and swimming pool within enclaves surrounded by other peoples apartments, it just didn’t seem like I would ever get much privacy going to them so I never did….Which kind of sucks because it’s definitely an amenity you’re paying for.
I lived here for three years and had such a positive experience it was under consideration when I moved back in the area again. At the time it was the only open residential building along Acorn Park, so while the route 2 traffic was busy a friend referred to pulling in like landing on an aircraft carrier the back entrance was very quiet. The units were well laid out spaces, attentive maintenance, the high quality finishes, and the people, neighbors and staff alike were kind and courteous. If I was looking again I would consider Vox on Two. I only moved when the price was no longer negotiable and some concerns individual to my unit were not addressed.
Great staff -- super responsive. Mike just fixed an AC problem I had -- they're always super professional. Amenities and apartment features are great. And an update - Tom just stopped by for routine updates to smoke alarm and HVAC water alarm batteries and filters - always on top of preventative maintenance!
Update: after being here a year I was delighted to renew. The staff are all super helpful and responsive. A special shout out to Maintenance who do a fantastic job of being proactive and quickly resolve issues thoroughly that we report. Can’t ask for more. Great job all. We’ve moved almost a week ago and the process from when we first toured the property, to moving in, to settling in has been great. Taylor has helped us throughout the process and is extremely helpful and responsive. The property and the apartments are very nice and well maintained.
Fantastic complex and community ! I lived at the Vox during 2019-2020 and absolutely loved it. Gerry and Marisa were excellent hosts and made tenants’ happiness their #1 priority. The building itself is beautiful and quiet despite being located adjacent to a major highway. The dog park and grounds in the back are also top notch. I would gladly live at the Vox again if I return to the Boston area.
