I reached out to Wayne when I was moving into a new home and had some questions about my lease. In a typical DC renter’s experience, my new landlord was trying to raise the rent exponentially (after not doing so for 5 years). As any DC resident dealing with landlord/tenant issues knows, it’s incredibly difficult and time consuming to try to figure out your own problems! I was overwhelmed by the information I was finding and went to Wayne to see if he could clarify things for me. He answered my questions clearly and quickly explained the basics of DC rent laws, and he even offered to read my lease. I ended up asking him for advice for my sister, who was breaking a lease in VA (cockroaches, uninhibited access to the building, again a classic DC MD VA renter’s scenario). He referred her to a great attorney in VA who was able to help her out. I’m so appreciative – Wayne took my questions so seriously, and really went above and beyond. He is easily the most approachable attorney I’ve ever dealt with!
