Wilderness Ventures offers some incredible adventures throughout the world to some of the most unique places that only a limited number of people will ever get to see and enjoy. As a trip leader, I have had the privilege of leading student participants throughout the regions of the Grand Tetons & Yellowstone, the Big Island of Hawaii, and internationally in Australia. I have so many positive memories and stories from my experiences, and many of the participants on these trips have continued to build on their relationships that first formed throughout these summer excursions. Throughout the year, the Wilderness Ventures administration and staff put in countless hours researching and planning each trip with such incredible detail. Their hard work and effort truly pays off for the students in the summer as trips typically run very smoothly and emphasis can be placed on the students and their experiences, instead of worrying about the logistics. When instances do occur (like change in flights or late arrivals, etc) the Wilderness Ventures staff does a great job of adjusting plans as needed and communicating with trip leaders and parents. I have enjoyed working with the administration, other trip leaders, and the participants and am looking forward to returning as a trip leader again this summer!

I stumbled upon Wilderness Ventures as I looked for a job as an instructor at an adventure camp. I can safely say I am lucky to have somehow come across such an amazing organization. This summer marks my second year working with Wilderness Ventures and I couldn't be happier to be returning to work for such a well-intentioned company. As an instructor last year, I saw the impact a summer with Wilderness Ventures has on the kids. After just two weeks, you could feel the camaraderie and see how empowered each and every one of them felt. Kids would come on the trip having never camped and would leave with a profound love of the natural world and the environment. Not to mention, they didn't want the trip to ever end. Ultimately, Wilderness Ventures does what few organizations can do: it provides kids with a fun, exciting way to build on leadership skills they may have otherwise never developed.

Wilderness Ventures is a great company! It is all about helping students grow to be more confident people and know that they can take on a challenge. I chose to come back this summer because I love working for Wilderness Ventures! I love the community and the people and the students! Each trip is full of so many fun and meaningful memories. In a WV trip there is so much growth in each of the students and I love being a part of that. Every student that comes on trip grows in some way either becoming a better climber and hiker, or learning how to interact with peers and create meaningful relationships, how to cook outside, and how to be confident in themselves and stand up for themselves. Plus backpacking, camping, and spending every minute outside is a great way to spend the summer!

I am so excited to be returning for a third summer as a trip leader for Wilderness Ventures. Every person I have worked with at WV is kind, caring, fun and responsible. We all understand how lucky we are to lead young people, and are united in wanting to help provide them a great WV experience! WV has opportunities for trips in the most beautiful and remote places in the world. As a past camper and leader, I have traveled to amazing locations in both the United States (Yellowstone and Alaska), as well as internationally (Costa Rica...twice!). WV's focus with their campers is to help them develop not only self confidence, self reliance, and leadership skills, but also the ability to work well with groups and build relationships with their peers. Working with high school and middle school aged students is an extremely rewarding experience, and an opportunity afforded by WV.

I have worked with Wilderness Ventures for two years now. I led the New Zealand, Tahiti, Fiji and the Hawaii trips. And i am returning to lead the Thailand service trip. Wilderness Ventures is the best company i have worked for. The owners and staff are wonderful, down to earth people who take their time to get to know every trip leader personally. Wilderness Ventures trips are carefully planned to offer a remarkable adventure for everyone involved. And as a leader the kids that go on these trips inspire us to return and lead another great adventure.
