Woodland Resort

Have only stayed at the smaller lodges, those have been great. The hotel looks awesome. Food and drink is good

The beer was cold and the huts were hot. It was my first time ice fishing and I had no idea how technical fishing had become. Vexlars, sonar, jigs, and glow sticks all to catch walleye, perch, and northern. We caught more fish than we could eat. If you stay there and don’t catch any fish, then try the taco pizza - it is awesomely good.

Stopped by the Woodland Resort bait shop for some ice information. The staff was very helpful, pointed out areas to fish, areas to avoid, and got me on my way with everything I needed. Even though the did not have a lot of roads set up yet, they still did have things very well-marked for places that can be travelled safely.

The lodging accommodation is very nice. The fishing experience was sub par. We were told we would have houses fir our group the first day at both shallow and deep locations. That did not happen. No fish the first day and the staff did not appear to either know where to find fish it even care. We were promised a new location the second day starting at 6:15. We waited until 6:40 to leave for the new houses. We were told there were problems on the ice. Apparently that was more important than taking care if the customer. By the time we are taken to the new houses missed the morning bite. We were told again that there were houses for us both deep and shallow. When we checked later to verify the story changed and we did not have access to the deep houses. Overall experience was that we were promised more than what was delivered. We're not put over fish ( verified by a camera). Staff did not seem to know where to out us over fish and did not really seem to care. They did not deliver in promises and it appeared that one person did not know what the others were doing. Overall a very disappointing experience. I have fished in many states abd provinces and seldom have such an experience. Will not return to Woodland and will not recommend to anyone who asks.

Very nice we had 10 people in 1 suite and we had a lot of room the kitchen is nice and open.
