Spirit Lake Casino & Resort

This is my favorite casino in the state. I love that they don't serve alcohol. All the staff there are friendly and helpful. I always enjoy my stay here. Rooms are clean and spacious. I love they come around with beverages. I can't say enough good things about Spirit Lake, they go over and beyond from the hotel to the food and especially the gaming floor. Excellent staff.

The place could really use some renovations. The room I was in may have been upgraded but it didn't feel modern at all. Each step on the floor made me think I was in a building from the 1980-90s. The phone in the room definitely was the big take away that they have no real plans on renovating which it needs. Even the furniture and couches need to be replaced. So the proce of each room is not worth it as smaller hotels offer better quality items for cheaper prices. The View restaurant was not great. I had the sirloin steak which had no taste at all and very rough. I had asked for corn as my vegetable and got the asparagus instead. The prices were definitely not worth it for what they had to offer. The casino is alright for its size. I think it could use a bigger selection of table games like roulette.

It's a casino and in that role it is about one would expect from a casino its size. It isn't a dry casino so the alcohol flows. I would recommend its Smoke restaurant for excellent ribs. I feel its 218 restaurant is over priced for the food quality. The buffet is .... a buffet. Sucks but not more so than similar buffets. As far as the rooms go, extremely basic, low end quality, walls very thin which is useful for your children's sexual education. Well, unless it was the vocal threesome that was a treat my last visit. That could confuse the youngsters.

Overall not a bad place. Much nicer than Four Bears Casino. The staff here is friendly and the casino is kept clean. They have table games including craps and poker. You can play poker and craps from Wednesday through Sunday. No alcohol served here.

The casino bus is a good service if it actually ever shows up. I've called multiple times and they say its on its way. Apparently it takes 6 hrs to drive 7 miles. The reason this got 3 stars is because the hotel is pretty nice. Just don't c y I would pay for a room then have to wait this long for the driving service to pick up.
