Worcester Community Action Council's (WCAC) mission is helping people move to economic self-sufficiency through programs, partnerships, and advocacy.
WCAC has an experienced history of providing education, employment, energy and asset developoment programs to assist those in the transition from poverty to self-sufficiency. Programs are primarily provided to low-income residents of Worcester and its surrounding towns with the goal of increasing the standard of living and creating opportunities for economic mobility beginning with basic needs, including fuel assistance, food stamps, and job skills. WCAC's programs provide the opportunity for self- sufficiency including asset development, income tax preparation, parenting resources, HiSET (formerly GED) classes, Head Start and Early Head Start, and youth training and employment.
