Counter service is a change but better than closing Staff friendly and helpful. Good food at fair prices. Great atmosphere. Plenty of parking.Food: 5/5
1st time experience was excellent. Service was great. I loved the atmosphere, especially the pictures of many people on the wall. I had the Pasta Supreme Signature Pasta. It was hot, fresh and absolutely delicious. I will get a total of three meals out of this one lunch! I highly recommend Yarusso's.Food: 1/5
Quaint, cozy, and steeped in history, Yarusso Bros is a local gem. With old roots deep in the community, it feels a bit like stepping into a different era when you walk through the doors. Historical photos and original paintings, warm lighting, and wooden decor give it an older, comforting feel: it was genuine & warm rather than modern & slick, if that makes sense. Everything was clean; the staff was attentive and friendly; the food was very tasty and plentiful the cheese pizza was massive & satisfying!. There are delicious vegetarian options, but I'm not sure if vegans will have luck here. The only prohibitive thing about Yarusso's is the abbreviated hours -- which I can't really fault them for, but I wanted to mention it. You can get a great meal here with a date or your family. Vegetarian options: Cheese pizza was huge and very cheesy & satisfying. The cheesy garlic bread was also fantastic and we just loved the dipping sauce! We also had spaghetti with marinara their standard spaghetti sauce isn't vegetarian, which was decent. There were *a few* vegetarian options, but the bulk of the menu is for omnivores. We were happy with our vegetarian options, but we'd always love to see more. Parking: No issues with parking, but the area, in general, gets a little congested at times due to the bustling and excellent liquor store across the street, Morelli's.
All things considered the rating should be around 3.7. The food is delicious and more importantly it's authentic Italian food that is not modified excessively to cater to an American taste which is a positive. This has been a restaurant starting 1933 so it has a history and culture behind it. The staff are very friendly and you can get good suggestions from them. It was clean, the food was served in roughly 15 minutes after we ordered not a long wait. Overall I liked the experience and the food. Some of our friends felt the food was not unique in terms of taste and a little on the pricey side which is why I say 3.7 not 4.
I've tried their restaurant twice to give it an honest review and their spaghetti is less than basic.. meatball had zero seasoning both times, noodles were way too over cooked, not even aldente, and the sauce was flavorless... it literally tasted like water... I don't think I'd waste that amount of money on spaghetti I can make better at home again..
My favorite place to eat when I want some Italian food! I'm a huge fan of their baked mostachioli and meatballs, covered in gooey cheese and served with a smile! For lunch I recommend the hot dago sandwich, so good, smothered in sauce and oh so delicious! The walls inside are also a point of interest, as well. Many framed celebrity photos and iconic Italian pictures and murals tell of the long history of 90 years the Yarusso family has been established in the area and is in the capable hands of the Yarusso Brothers, Mike and Fred. They open at 11 am and close early, at 7 pm on the weekends, 6 pm during the week, so plan accordingly. So worth it.
My husband and I decided to go out for my birthday and he wanted to take me somewhere slightly outside of the city. This little patch of heaven, located in a small neighborhood, was well worth the drive. The pictures do not accurately depict how massive these plates are. The food is fantastic, the service is incredible and the amount for cost is jaw dropping. The price on the menu that you see is well worth it. I highly recommend this place and will be bringing everyone I know to this historic restaurant.
Great Italian food! Quick service and friendly staff!Food: 5/5
We were a large group. Everybody raved about their food. You will get full. The lasagna servings were huge, a lot of to go boxes even for antipasto salads. The meatballs aren't those puny golf ball sized one they're bigger and delicious.Food: 5/5
We were traveling through and I told my son to hop on the inner webs and pick a local lunch spot for us to try, and he hit it out of the park. Jerry and his staff not only took great care if us, the Food was awesome and we all left fat and happy. Jerry even come over and talked to us and gave us a quick history lesson on his family owned restraunt since 1933. If your ever up in Saint Paul area and want great Italian, make sure and stop in and tell them Dinger sent you, you will no be disappointed.
