Party of four, we visited here this weekend and enjoyed a nice dinner. It’s a nice older building, with validated off street parking available. Our service was good, not rushed to make a decision - and good with recommendations. Best to have a reservation - we were on the early side but it seemed to be picking up. We had several of the pasta entrees and one chicken Marsala. Crab cakes and beet salad for a starter. And a nice Italian red wine to split. Would definitely recommend if your local fora nice local not stuffy experience.
I almost gave a 4 but it didn't exceed my expectations. The ravioli stuffed with crab and shrimp was tasty, Some of my family got pasta that they enjoyed, others got the steak special which was okay. I have to note though, there was plastic in one of the pasta dishes.. which they took off our bill and provided another dish. The desserts were probably a 3/5 rating. Overall the service and atmosphere were really nice, but not suitable for a big party.
One of the nicest patios in the city - and some of the best food! This place has friendly servers, generous portions and top-notch food. We enjoyed the bruschetta, cappellini al basilico e pomodoro with shrimp, insalata isabella with chicken and the salmone al limone. For dessert we shared some sinfully delicious canolli!Food: 5/5
This was my first time at La Grolla and overall it was a really nice experience. We sat out on the patio which was really beautiful! The service was pretty slow, which maybe could’ve partly been because we were out on the patio and our server just didn’t get out there as often to check on our table. However, the drinks were great and so was the food! I highly recommend the penne alla vodka. It was really creamy and delicious! The aperol spritz was really yummy too. Dietary restrictions: I did notice some of the pastas could be made gluten free. Parking: There’s a lot right next to La Grolla that you can park in for free, but you have to get a ticket stamped by the restaurant to validate your parking.
Came in at 1:30pm on a Wednesday and got a table. We were greeted right away by the friendly staff and were provided with bread service right away. We ordered off the lunch menu, our food came out very quickly and everything was amazing. The Espressotini was delicious as well as the Crab Cakes, Penne alla Vodka, and Gnocci Salentina. The atmosphere was comfortable and very cozy. I would recommend for a nice meal. Parking: Parking lot with validated parking
La Grolla is so good. Charming little restaurant with the best Italian food in Minnesota. Prices are very reasonable considering the quality. The cocktails are also fantastic. The wait staff is unmatched. Not enough superlatives to describe the experience.Food: 5/5
The quality of the food here, at one of our favorite places for decades…. Has gone SO DOWNHILL, it’s so sad. Seems like all do Selby Ave too… so many restaurants since the pandemic. This pic was the “fresh” pasta that was old and dry and I could even eat the whole part of the pasta…. The classic scallop in a nest dish has steadily gone down hill - the lobster sauce is….. nothing anymore, doesn’t at all taste good or even of lobster. How is that even the Lasagna sucked?! Didn’t even taste like tomato goodness….. cocktails were fantastic and staff are always lovely.
A good place to enjoy good food and friendships just like the name. We had capesente, pasta with pesto cream sauce and puttanesca! All excellent especially if you like creamy sauceFood: 5/5
Went here for lunch, because we were drawn in by the amazing smell of their food from the street. Food was very good. The employees were very nice and easily made changes to our orders when we asked. I would highly recommend!Food: 5/5
Came here for a date and it was so good we ended up staying until close. Every dish was amazing and the service is attentive and warm. I would definitely get the seafood pasta baked in parchment paper again, I can't wait to eat that again.Food: 5/5
