I ordered a cheesecake to go and after paying realized they gave me two slices. The slices are not bad. They're not outstanding. But it's a good convenient place to grab a treat.
I had the opposite experience from previous reviews. The workers were really fast and friendly. We got a couple of bagels and lox snd pastries before we hopped on the train and it was perfect. It was great and easy way to get a quick bite before heading out. Definitely stop when inside the Grand Central Terminal.
Good as it ever was BUT... $9.99 for one loaf of rye bread?!! SERIOUSLY? Totally get that Grand Central is a high rent spot but $10 feels like "goniff" territory. Check out Zabars where rye bread is $3.98.
UPDATE: SATURDAY, JULY 9, 2022, 4:41PM: First, let me stare that this time I visited the Zaro's by the Graybar Passage in Grand Central Terminal. This is not the location I usually visit. It made me happy to see all the employees wearing face coverings. Also, my first bagel order was botched up, but another employee was very professional and polite in rectifying the matter. I love this bakery! I have been coming here, virtually every time I come to Grand Central Terminal. The pastries are always fresh, the coffee is always strong, and the customer service is always high. Although I have bern to other Zaro's locations, over the years, this one has been my favorite for three years and counting. I look forward to my next visit.
These cookies were absolutely amazing!!! I went back a second time before traveling home. They were really nice and accommodating. The oatmeal cookies were my favorite. I look forward to having the option to order online.
It took 20-30 minutes to get my order. This is not the fault of the folks that work here, so I don’t blame them. Please add additional staff for busy hours. I stood in line as other customers who ordered after me received their order. Again, not the fault of the employees that work here, but whoever decides staffing levels for this location.
Zaro’s use to be good when I use to work there 20 yrs ago. I recently visited one the Grand Central locations & purchased chocolate rugellas & rainbow cookies, was horrible. Wasn’t as fresh as it use to be. I remember them making fresh bagels & halla bread Cakes & pastries were so fresh. I am sooo disappointed.
Polite and friendly staff even when crazily busy. Bagels and pretzels were delicious. Shame we are leaving the city today. Would defo return again
Zaro’s Bread Basket is an American family-owned bakery chain, operating in the New York City metropolitan area. This shop is easily accessible from Grand Central Terminal. Lines are always long here due to the bakery’s popularity and central location. The baked goods taste homemade, and are presented very attractively. The great taste soundly justifies the higher prices. Packaging here is also artistic. Friendly staff.
Cashier person was not friendly, it seems like he was exhausted but it was not my fault.
