We celebrated my wife's birthday here in August. We ordered the Chef's Tasting menu. Everything was So Delicious and cooked to perfection. The fried calamari was amazing. The Octopus was beyond Words. Our server did an incredible job with our service. He was very knowledgeable about Jose Andres and his passion for cooking. We highly recommend this Food Experience.
Zaytinya by José Andrés is a culinary gem! From the moment you step in, the ambiance is warm and inviting with a modern Mediterranean vibe. The service is top-notch, with attentive staff ready to guide you through the impressive menu. I highly recommend trying the lamb dishes – perfectly cooked and seasoned. The mezze selections are fantastic for sharing, and the pita bread is warm and fresh. Don’t miss out on their octopus dish, it’s tender and bursting with flavor! Pair your meal with one of their unique cocktails or a selection from their excellent wine list. Whether you're dining with a group or having an intimate dinner, Zaytinya offers an unforgettable experience. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area!
Had a great experience. They were very heavy on the salt, the pastrami flat bread was like licking a salt block, but everything else was fantastic. I went with the Cabernet from Greece and it was incredibly dry, and in a very good way. Absolutely loved the bread and the zucchini pancakes. The mushrooms with dates had a delicious bacon flavor and the Brussels sprouts were over cooked but good. The fries are fries, they were oily and crunchy which I like. Absolutely worth eating at.
The food was delicious! Was looking for a suggestion from a work colleague, and this came up as a nice mix of options. There were plenty of choices for someone like me who is a celiac, and often has limited "informed" people at restaurants to speak with - the staff was able to speak to every dish feedback - would be nice if you could mark menu, not everyone is comfortable with others knowing of their condition - plus it can be embarrassing when with work people. The tapas, sized appropriately, were served promptly and full of flavor. We were able to try multiple dishes and didn't walk away feeling stuffed! We enjoyed sitting outside, the atmosphere had a nice "move it along" vibe without making you feel rushed. Inside might be different, it looked beautiful in there when we left through the front door. We were not disappointed in the recommendation and I am already trying to figure out how to get my husband here with me! Dietary restrictions: Celiac
We went here for our anniversary dinner. The food and service were amazing. I didn't love the first cocktail that was recommended, but our server was quick to swap it out. The food was quick and phenomenal, and the service was just as good. I highly recommend checking this spot out, and we will definitely come back!Food: 5/5
We had their cookbook tasting menu. The food was pretty good, but not the best Mediterranean food we have ever had. We liked their Brussels sprouts, roasted asparagus, and lamb. Found their Turkish coffee cake very interesting. Got to say their complimentary bread and olive oil was yummy. Very nice ambience. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about their food. You can try this place a couple of times but I doubt I would go here regularly.
I chose this place after doing a lot of research, and I couldn’t be more satisfied The restaurant is not only beautiful but also very bright, with the high ceilings creating a refreshing and uplifting atmosphere. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Their homemade pre-meal biscuits were absolutely amazing—we even asked for a second serving!
a very large but organized restaurant with amazing food. i loved the hummus, chicken and cheese pide a lot. they really nailed it! i enjoyed celebrating my birthday there and the olive cake with ice cream was wonderful. can only say good things about this place!Food: 5/5
I've been going to Zaytinya for 15 years, and the experience is still unbeatable. While nowadays there are a lot of other restaurants that serve similar food, and I've had some dishes at other restaurants that I think were prepared better than they are here, there's nothing like a busy night soaking up the amazing atmosphere inside, or a brunch outside on their patio. These experiences feel like true DC experiences, and I'd recommend coming here to anyone. And while maybe not the best, the food is still really good. Vegetarian options: There are many vegetarian options. Not a huge amount of vegan options but enough to have a solid meal.
This was by far the best Mediterranean experience I’ve ever had! The chef’s special was amazing, packed with bold, refreshing flavors, and surprisingly filling for small plates. I highly recommend it—10/10! I can't wait to bring my fiancé here; he's going to love it! The glass of wine I had was excellent. I wanted another, but I was too full. The ambiance was immaculate, and our server was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Everything was spot on.
