My family thoroughly enjoyed the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum. The museum have interesting artifacts and displays of the history of Lincoln Memorial University at the beginning. The museum also displays a chronology of Lincoln's heritage and life, humanizing the 16th President of the United States. The museum has a lot of authentic US Civil War surgical kits and weapons. There are displays discussing the history of Harrogate area at the time of the US Civil War along with army and naval historical information. Very affordable even for a family of 6 like us. For littles, there is a large discovery room with dress up clothes, Lincoln Logs, theme books, and hands on cabinets for fun learning history. I highly recommend a visit!
Great place to learn all things Abraham Lincoln. The museum really flows and allows you to move at your own pace. The admission is $5.00 but the knowledge is priceless. Beautiful views of the mountains and countryside can also be seen from the museum. Definitely worth a stop if your in the area.
I was excited to go one of my favorite presidents but couldn't get in because they were closed during winter break which was not updated on their Google page. Promised to be a cool little find on my back roads journey through Tennessee to Kentucky but alas. Bonus points for the festive red tie on the Lincoln statue
Third largest private Lincoln collection in the world. Artifacts include a corner cabinet made by Lincoln's father, scales used by Lincolin while he was a grocer in New Salem, the Lincoln family Springfield tea set, White House items, and actual funerary ornaments. Also, a wide selection of Civil War artifacts, including weapons, uniforms, naval history, and medical history. Areas within the museum for children to explore history is the Lincoln Learning Lab, a place where they can interact with replicas, dress-up, make crafts, and explore the past.
Nice museum of Abraham Lincoln. Busts, statues, pictures, portraits, memorabelia displayed. Lincoln's story, political history on display. Second floor, was not as organized, displays showed age. A very liberal art wall could have been eliminated.
I installed the fixed seating in the auditorium/ lecture hall. everyone that worked there was awesome! very accommodating and extremely polite. It was honestly a pleasure to have put in work there.
Great tribute to an amazing president.
This was my third visit and first since the reopening which was scheduled Spring of 2020. The second floor isn't open yet but expected in 6 weeks. The first floor now has a section dedicated to the history LMU. Great museum getting better.
Very interesting museum. They have a very nice collection of Abraham Lincoln historical artifacts. We found this museum on our way to the Tri-state point hiking trail and we're happy we did. It added a little history to our hiking that day. Check it out.
This is an interesting museum all about Abraham Lincoln. Moderately priced, and you can find out alot about him and his presidency. If you have some time and are passing through it's worth a stop to check it out if you like Lincoln and/or want to learn some about his presidency and that era.
