Great spot for mexican/Tex Mex and drinks in an authentic feeling setting. Service is friendly and portions, value, and flavors are good. Tacos were decent, nothing in particularly stand out for me, but their wet burrito was excellent. Major bonus points for their salsa bar! Each salsa we tried was delicious and really helped to elevate the meal.
Awesome service, tasty food, good portions. Pork and beef tacos are delicious. I like that they come with a side of guac. Quesadilla was good and comes with guac and sour cream. Burritos are pretty big, but they don’t come with a side. Seating is limited, and I found prices to be a bit expensive, but I like this place.
Small place with extraordinary taste. This Mexican restaurant is super amazing and have amazing food. They have vegetarian friendly options. Definitely try their tacos and burritos. Their spicy sauces are so good that I drank a few of them. It is available in their salsa bar. The atmosphere is vibrant and brings back memories of Mexico! They also have traditional drinks. They accept card.
I was greeted right away by Staff as I entered. Ordered a plate of nachos with a Modelo beer. Order was quick & the beer was cold. Nachos was very tasty. Staff was awesome.Food: 5/5
The restaurant is located in a basement and is very compact and packed with people. So much so that it’s quite difficult to navigate through the restaurant. The food is extremely bland. I get that they’re trying to appeal to everyone and keep it a neutral taste while offering a variety of hot sauces for those who prefer some spice, but this was downright tasteless. The sauce bar is really good but not nearly enough to save the meal. I also found a hair in my food. I didn’t bring it to anyone’s attention because I found it toward the end of my meal and it was a singular hair. But the one pina colada was nice. I’d avoid.
Authentic Mexican cuisine at a great price. Great for a quick stop in. A mix of dine in and take out, you place your order at the counter and then sit down. Your meal is brought to you afterwards. A great hole-in-the-wall spot in downtown Ottawa.Food: 5/5
Great Mexican Restaurant with amazing mexican vibes. They have gluten free options which I loved. Burrito was really good and filling. The Tacos felt like they lacked a bit of sauce so I had to order a Guacamole sauce as extra. They do however have a free bar sauce for other sauces. Overall, great experience. Very healthy and delicious food.

Ahora Mexican Restaurant feels a bit like a hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant in the context of Byward market. Once you enter through the front door, you immediately go down the stairs into a well-decorated sit down small restaurant which has a homey and restaurant feel. Please wait to be seated l. You can then place your order at the counter after reading the menu above the counter or reading the paper menu that they gave you. The serving sizes are definitely huge and they will definitely fill you up! Plenty of rice and beans to go around. They also have a self-serve salsa bar at the far end of the ordering counter. Feel free to try every one! Or mix and match!
