Wasabi Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar

TYPE OF RESTAURANT: Japanese Sushi bar PRICE WORTH IT?: 5 stars; $6.00 - $38.00 NUMBER OF TIMES I HAVE VISITED: 2 SERVICE: 5 stars; very nice and polite servers; well trained. The owner was very, very nice. ATMOSPHERE: 4 stars; casual; fun; relaxing; spacious. FOOD: 4 stars; the food was good; portions were very good; appetizers were very tasty, but the temperature that it was served at was not right; the sashimi was sliced thickly; plating was good; the fish quality was inconsistent; the food was not unique, but was prepared well.

Freshest of sashimi and a great spot to try one piece of something a little different without blowing a budget. The ramen was a nice surprise and an adorable wine selection to accompany your meal.

Compared to my last visit, quite a few items disappeared from the menu. More like the "usual" sushi place / Japanese restaurant. As for most Japanese restaurant in Canada, we are not in the realm of real authentic Japanese food. This being said, the food is good, and the service okay as I think they were not expecting a group of 12 on a Wednesday night. Everyone enjoyed the food. I must say that my own choice The Emperor's Plate was a bit overpriced compared to other items from the menu.

A nice place in by-ward area. Liked the environment. I ordered chowder, was expecting , New England type. But had a pleasant surprise that it was Japanese style. Something new for me. Will come back for a full meal soon.

Excelent service, food and place. Totally recommended. I tried one of their bento boxes for lunch and it was amazing. The food and taste were very good, and it was also very fun to eat from the bento-box-like dish it was served in.

I've been here before and have never had any issues with Wasabi. The food is fresh and really well presented. I have had both the à la carte and pre-determined menu items without a hitch. This time, the service was a little less desirable. We constantly had to ask for refills of our water and the waitress only came by once to ask how we were doing the whole time we were there. Not that it was busy, we were one of only a handful of customers at the time. The Su-sa-ma sushi, sashimi, maki was really tasty. I would have like to have seen a larger variety of fish on it, they seemed to repeat the same fish for the sashimi as they had for the maki. Overall, a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone. I will be returning.

The food was so good and tasty. Very generous portions for the price. A big variety of wine selections as well! Recommend to anyone who loves sushi and ramen.

The food is not as good as service. Ordered Steak Teriyaki and it was too oily, was really hard to finish it even it was a sampler. Piri Kara Ramen was way far from the real ramen: it had a very small amount of ground chicken which was hard to find in the bowl and it tasted as I'd buy "ready to eat" package which you just mix with hot water ... and it was very heavy for stomach, didn't' finish it.

Sushi rolls we ordered were far too large, food was pricey, yet service was good.
