All the instructors are all fantastically patient and caring. The other students seem to also follow lead, and everyone is friendly yet focused. I have little to no martial arts experience and the instructors take the time to explain things thoroughly to the entire class, and one-on-one. There is a great sense of community, and a focus on developing the student's skills. These classes are not just about fitness or going through the motions, every class is non-stop learning. It's very different from the big chain martial arts classes. You'll learn WHY you do certain movements and how to adjust when what you do isn't quite right. Both my husband and I look forward to class and go nearly every day, hopefully we can get past our two left feet!
Amazing place! Wonderful people! Highly recommended!!
I was very nervous about taking a class and being the newbie who didn't know what was going on so I was pleased when the instructed took the time to help me one on one! The students are all also very nice and helpful. The fact that there's no contract is also a nice bonus! I would definitely recommend this to someone looking to try a martial art.
I've been training at Aikido Center of Jacksonville for two months. I selected this school because they offer classes six days a week. The instructors have been training for ~20 years. One thing I didn't know about Aikido when I walked through the door is, you're always training with a partner. For me, this means that probably 75% of my training is hands-on with a student/instructor who has been training for 4-20+ years. The fees are modest. Everyone is friendly - it is a family atmosphere. I'll be attending this school for as long as I live in Jacksonville.
I'm excited to be part of a excellent experience of the martial art. The instructor are compassionate and safety oriented. I have found a home from home. I would recommended anyone who like to be physically fit and have the time to invest in yourself it will be worth it.
I started a few months ago, and it been really fun. I really enjoy learning Aikido. I had no prior martial arts experience, but the instructors and students were great. They took it slowly until I got a hand on things. I actually hated exercise but knew I needed to know self defense. Every since the first practice day which I tried for free, I been looking forward to practices. :D
Had zero martial arts training when I started going. The teachers and students instantly made me feel welcome! I love coming here to train.
Friendly people and place to learn and practice aikido. Came to Jacksonville on business and left with new friends. It’s a journey.
Great kids and adult classes, knowledgeable instructors. Best place to train in town.
Very family friendly dojo with ranges from beginner to black belt.
