Renovations look wonderful. Staff was friendly. Skates were better than the average rink. Ice was not over crowded and it was just a good time!
I go here every Saturday for my learn to skate class and the public skate at 2-4pm and it’s great! The first rink is fantastic, it’s clean and doesn’t have any flaws. The second rink is also great, even cleaner and brand new. The second rink is mainly used for hockey I WILL WARN YOU IT GETS VERY BUSY ON SATURDAY AND THERE ARE NO LOCKERS TO PUT YOUR STUFF The skate shop is amazing, they have all the hockey and figure skating stuff you need, and they can also sharpen and heat mold your skates for you. The caffe is good, haven’t really eaten anything from there, but my mom has, she says the coffee is bitter but then again she’s used to Starbucks. The rental skates are not that great, but they work, JUST MAKE SURE YOU TIE THEM VERY TIGHT this applies to all skates and I will warn you, they are not very sharp. The bathrooms are great, it has plenty of stalls, and it’s clean. The bathrooms are all the way and the end of the benches near the second rink The newly opened restaurant/bar is also great! You can see both rinks from it, and you can watch plenty of hockey games on the tv’s. The food is decent, but they do need more staff there. The staff is wonderful, the coaches, the employees, everyone! One time, my mom fell straight back and hit her head on the ice. The staff came over right away, helped her off the ice, and got her an ice pack and water. She wound up being fine! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone, young or old, professional or not, it’s the best place to ice skate! UPDATE: I now take the pre-freeskate class on Tuesday from 6:45-7:30pm and I also have a private coach and I am learning so quickly! I also go to the public skate on Saturday from 5-7pm and it’s still just as busy. The restaurant is a little slow with service but the food is still great and the games playing on like 20 different tv’s is nice. The second rink is used purely for hockey now which clears things up for the figure skating rink when there is class, there is still hockey taught in the figure skating rink but it’s not much and it never interferes with anything. The bathrooms are still as clean as they can be and there is plenty of stalls. The skate shop is still great, I recently got my new skates heat molded there and it was great! It’s a great place to get my skates sharpened too, they always do a great job.

First time customer. Unfortunately the experience wasn’t good. My son has Cerebral palsy and needs assistance with the kid cart to skate. Unfortunately there was a employee who was determined not to allow any parents/kids attending the social event scheduled for children with disabilities to having any of the kid carts not sure the correct term to describe them. Sadly many of the kids with special needs didn’t get the opportunity to participate. The worst part is that many of them, including my two children were looking forward to attending this event all week. The silver lining was the mascot was awesome and made all the kids feel welcome. These first time customers will not be returning. An unfortunately experience to share with my mom groups.
Awesome facility! Clean. Great rental skates. Ice was nice. Bathrooms were clean. Big bar area with TVs. Highly recommend checking it out.
First time going. Family of 5 cost 85.00 for 2hrs. Not bad at all! We had fun. Was told rink was renovated along with building. 2 rinks, a cafe, restaurant in middle with several tvs and also a video game room that is i believe 10 dllrs and hour. Overall i think a good bang for your buck. Only complaint i wish the experienced people werent allowed to speed skate and do all their tricks arong us regular ppl...

I used to play Hockey here back in 97/98. They have made HUGE improvements and are still working on it. They just opened their 2nd ice rink which should help with more Ice Hockey games, practices, figure skating days and public skate times. The pro shop is great, they have alot of items there and prices are fair. They do need some help in the skate sharpening area but I know they are working on that as well. I think it would help if they had a D.J. or someone taking requests for songs to play while you skate. Could be cool to have colored lights and lasers as well. I know of a place years ago that would play skating games like red light/green light etc to get engagement in the skaters and make it very family friendly. I think once the place is done it will be a truly enjoyable place and experience!!!
Great place! Restrooms, skates rental, coffee. It's a little bit cold inside, so make sure you wear something warm, especially on your head and hands.
I love the Community Igloo, however, if you are an adult looking to learn a new hobby or improve your fitness, be aware that the Learn to Skate LTS classes are advertised as 6 levels but they only allow adults to learn up to level 3 before they are essentially kicked out to do private lessons. Private lessons are more expensive and aren't always available at the convenient times that the LTS classes are. Not only do you pay the coach for the private lesson, but you have to pay for "Freestyle Ice" time which is booked in 30 minute segments. I had been participating in the LTS classes since July 2022 and was just recently told that instructors "aren't allowed" to teach adults past level 3 techniques. This was supposedly established in Fall of 2022, however, I had been working on levels higher than 3 up until June 2023 when they dropped that on all of us. Apparently this rule change was due to a lack of staff to appropriately teach level 6, however, Madison and other instructors have done an EXCELLENT job in dividing their attention equally to different skill levels within the same class. Also despite plans for hiring more coaches, they aren't even considering allowing adults to learn up to level 6. It's sad how micromanaged these very talented coaches are by managers who aren't even skating. Don't bother contacting anyone in management including the CEO or facility manager as they will ignore your message and provide no feedback. The director of skating, Tammy, did not care to hear anyone's plea for letting adults/teens learn past level 3 in LTS classes. It was so sad to see one of the 16 year old girls in the class that had been working so hard be let down like that. It is unfair to customers when the program is advertised as 6 levels. It also comes off as a bit ageist since this only applies to the adult/teen classes. They pride themselves in being a Certified Autism Center CAC yet won't allow adults and teens to continue to learn and advance their skills in skating past level 3. That does not seem very inclusive to me. Private coaches are often booked and are unable to take on more clients, or if they are, they only have mornings available. This is not feasible for adults working full time. Thank goodness for Olivia for having more open availability for private coaching because she does a great job and I love working with her!
