I recently stayed at Dyess Inn and while the staff were friendly and helpful, the air conditioning unit in my room was quite loud and made it difficult for me to sleep. The room was clean and comfortable, but the noise level was definitely a negative for me. The location was convenient, and there is a nearby gym which is a plus. Overall, I appreciate the staff's friendliness, but the loud AC was a major downside. 4 stars.
26 years active, now retired, and this is about the nicest, cleanest, kindest AF Inn we have ever stayed at!! Staff, rooms, everything, absolutely great!! The beds are comfy too which is a huge plus!!Rooms: 5/5
Family with 3 kids, used this for TLF for 2.5 weeks before our house was ready. Super great. Free laundry in unit, space for our whole family, all the needs covered and really helpful staff and facilities folks. All-in-all it was a really good experience when I really wasn't expecting much at all. Clean, well maintained, and the A/C was not too loud in our units newer I think.
I couldn't believe how clean and spacious this place was. You can walk to the commissary and BX. Super convenient and comfortable. I think the best TLF I have been so far. And I have been to 5.
Unfortunately management does not support individual military members traveling with pets, although they advertise their pet friendly rooms. Not every service member will have their family members with them & may travel solo with pets. I was told by one staff member there are available pet friendly rooms but they are saved for families who have kids.... I’m 6 months pregnant traveling with my dog, and because I didn’t have a kid or family with me they couldn’t take me or my pet in. I spoke to the manager and she told me lied saying there aren’t any available anymore. I booked a room 2 months in advanced hoping I’d call again for pet availability, but sadly they only prioritize families. Very disappointing.
The minute she heard we needed a "pet friendly" room it all changed. Wouldn't take the reservation until day before and said "there will be limited availability". Also, why did she need to know the purpose of our visit. WON'T EVEN BOTHER NEXT TIME!!!Service: 1/5
It's cheap but the room I stayed in didn't have a shower curtain or towels and the hot water was non existent. I had to move to a different building in the middle of my 10 days. Only reason I'm giving 3 stars, and not one is for the staff. They were nice and were helpful. They put me in a nicer room and made it right in the end. I just wish that I had the same room the whole time.
AC/ventilation is very loud. Makes a terrible rattling noise when used. When your trying to sleep, watch tv, or pretty much do anything it becomes annoying and a constant headache.
Very helpful staff and spacious rooms for a great price. Also has a business center and laundry to take care of those needs. Minus one star because the heating/cooling units in the rooms are quite loud, and in unusually cold temperatures 15° they struggle to keep the rooms comfortable.
The rooms are converted dorm rooms. The wifi is good. The tv is as little small on the living room. The bathroom has an odd set up, but it's not bad. There were ants in my room, but others I stayed with didn't have an issue. The laundry was free. There are several buildings so I cannot guarantee that other experiences will be similar. They are also building a new building for lodging.
