I had to stay overnight in Salt Lake two days before Christmas. I was worried about not being able to get a room at all. I called Best Western first and they were able to accommodate me and had a shuttle from the airport immediately. Everything about this hotel is top-notch. I highly recommend staying here. The hotel is clean, the service is good, and the Continental breakfast is just beautiful! Highly recommend 10 / 10!
I came into town and had my family come visit me at the hotel. They brought their kids to swim and immediately some lady asked them if they were staying at the hotel rudely and then said well visiting ends at 9. Mind you it’s only 7. So the kids proceed to swim and laugh and this seems to bother the two men the lady had swimming in the pool. So the worker, had two male acquaintances swimming and they didn’t want to be disturbed by kids. And she kept walking out them coming in saying someone in their room was complaining that the pool is too loud and they are trying to sleep, it was 7 pm. I stood outside the pool doors to see if the it was loud and it wasn’t. Clearly she wanted her friends to be able to swim without the burden of little kids splashing around the pool. My sisters and I were talking to each other and we were merely expressing the idea that it was her who had the issue with the kids swimming and she overheard us and immediately started screaming at us. As if to show boat her authority as a worker to her friends. Very unprofessional. She was yelling at us saying it wasn’t me who complained stop blaming me before I kick all of you out of the hotel as she was yelling this to my sister, pointing at all the kids and making sure to let me know that she’d kick me out of the hotel as well for having them over to visit. So we decided it wasn’t worth the headache and gathered the kids out of the pool. As my niece was walking out the woman then proceeded to wave her off, in a taunting manner. Come to find out this worker was the general manager. I’ve never experienced this type of unprofessional behavior from a hotel staff she was rude and inappropriate. Decided to not extend my stay through the weekend like I had considered when checking in and I checked out in the morning and went to another hotel across the street.
Way too many chemicals. Super itchy itchy itchy. The bathroom door was rotten, there were 3 patches in the walls. The furniture nd carpet was very worn. The elevator tried to close on people multiple times, probably a sadety issue there. The vending machines weren't working either. The price was close to $200 with another $150 hold. The front desk girl was very nice but if I had another choice I would've never stepped foot in this hotel let alone stayed.
The rooms are rather small and the hot water in the bathroom is very unreliable. Sometimes warm and sometimes cold, but never hot. I had to sleep without a shower. I'm still giving it a three star because the front desk tried to accommodate my needs in whatever capacity they had, but I would not visit again.
Was a good place to stay for an appt at Huntsman, easy on/off the freeway and right to downtown. Rooms comfortable and cool, which I appreciate. Comforters were warm. TVs a bit small, but ok. Our room must have been updated recently, I saw no evidence of the problems listed below in our room!! Nice breakfast! Waffles, eggs, bagels, juice all constantly being refilled with fresh hot items. Will definitely return!! Recommend!!
Convenient location to the SLC airport. Room was quiet but a bit dated. Found the breakfast room table and chairs to be a bit awkward to sit at. Price was good for our one night stay prior to flying out the next afternoon.Rooms: 5/5
This is the first time in many, many years that I walked into a hotel room and was not compulsed to clean and disinfect it before settling in. The beds were comfortable and everything worked as it should. My only issue is that the mosquitoes were infesting the place inside and out. We could hardly get our luggage out of the car fast enough and went in covered in bites only to be greeted by more of those pointy nosed buzzards INSIDE the hotel, including our rooms!! 2 members of our party are allergic to mosquito bites and started swelling immediately. Thankfully they had benadryl and whatever to help them stop swelling while the rest of us swatted all the mosquitoes we could find. We called the front desk to see if they had bug spray and the employee came up with Lysol spray... we declined having her spray the room with that nonsense and went out to buy actual bug repellent spray. The next morning we could see that there is standing water on the hotel property which is probably where the bugs came from. I'm wondering why that water isn't being treated or drained? I sure hope the hotel manager takes this situation seriously and if nothing else, instructs the staff to at least warn the guests of the infestation so they can come prepared with their own spray... This whole issue caused us to to miss our dinner plans that evening and all of us are suffering with multiple itchy bug bites. This IS treatable and preventable with a little effort. We expect to be eaten alive when camping, not while staying in a ~$200/night hotel in a major city. Anyway, good job with housekeeping!!
First when we checked in, they couldn’t find our 2 reservations we booked months in advance so it took 1 1/2 hours to actually get checked in. Second, on our 2nd day being there we went and did some things downtown. When we came back and came to get into our rooms we couldn’t because the front desk lady only booked us for 1 night! When we told we’d be there for 2 nights, and even saw it on the itenierary! Lastly, on our last night we discovered BED BUGS! We were covered in bites from them. So we all went down to front desk to make them aware and switch to a different room, I proceeded to get pretty much called crazy by front desk. Saying they were mosquito bites and they don’t have bed bugs, yet we didn’t see a single mosquito on our trip there! Basically, to sum it up. We will never be coming back and have called corporate as well. DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE!!!
I paid for a food item with cash and the same item was charged to our room. Breakfast was cold both days. Room was ok. Jetted tub faucets need some work. Looks like black mold growing in showerRooms: 2/5
Secure location next to FBI station. Very comfortable. Nice free breakfast lots of choices, cheese omelette with bacon and hash browns, fresh fruit was very good .Rooms: 5/5
