I can’t say enough good things about this hospital and new location. Dr. Sarah Ayers has always been wonderful. We really like C Stritch CNP, her Energy is awesome and fun with the kids. All the staff front and back has definitely made a lot improvement. The wait time is nothing anymore either. We used to have a long wait time, now it’s in and out within 30 minutes.
Definitely worth the five stars. Staff is very friendly and doctors are so professional and nice with kids. Being a grad student, it’s hard to find appointments that fit my tight schedule. They always make sure to accommodate me for a suitable time slot. The new app also made it convenient for scheduling appts and getting in touch with medical staff when there are some concerns. Plus, the new building is awesome. Happy to see the staff enjoying it!
The front desk staff at the Kent location are almost always incredibly rude. Once someone refused to aknowldege me at all until they were finsished with a personal call. Another time the staff was talking about gardening, saw me, but made me wait until their conversation was over before checking me in. Another time a woman was so annoyed that I was there to pick up a physical form for school that she literally threw the paper at me and snapped “is that it?” When they call about appointments, they sound annoyed and have flat, unfriendly voice intonations. The process of going there for well checks is usually an hour and a half ordeal. Patients are not scheduled efficiently. Dr. Symmonds and some of the nurses are good, but I can’t understand why they would staff their front office with so many rude people, and it’s been this way for years. The clients are made to feel like nuisances. Akron Childrens hospital itself is great, however.
Wonderful to children with autism. Very patient. Can always get an appointment within a reasonable time. Takes time for each patient. Answers question. Very caring. Not just the doctor but also staff. Love Dr. Symmonds.
They are always very limited in appointment spots and it is difficult to get an appointment on a day that is convenient and when they give you the wrong day for an appointment and you get up at 6am and get 3 little kids ready to drive 30 minutes to an appointment on the day you were told, they can't even squeeze you in so while carrying a baby you have to also carry your 3 year old who is screaming because she doesn't understand why she has to leave.
Use to be a decent place to go to,the last couple of times my son gets sick and they wrote him off school. He usually gets an ear infection after we see the Doctor.Doctor wrote him off all week to go back Friday, call back to see if he could get a note for Friday on Thursday.Talk to someone said they would call back no call back on Thursday.Son still running a fever on Friday they call Friday morning tell them he was still running a tempature. Was told by the Nurse it wasnt high enough of a temperature and they wont write him off another day.His school if your running a temperature they send you home and you can not come back for 24 hours after it is gone. Was given excuses why they wont give an excuse wanted to see his Doctor she is full will have to see some one else.Went through this once before called the office Manager got the scool note.Their staff there are terrible anymore will look for another Doctor dont go here .Update finally received a call back told them he was still running a fever was told it's not high enough and policy they will not write another day off school and that if he was still like this in 2 weeks they would prescribe antibiotics. Will be looking at another Pediatrician unbelievable guess I have to wait until he goes to the emergency room terrible medical office as you can see with the other reviews.
