I love finding a restaurant at an airport, and this is one of the best I've found anywhere! Great food that really hit the spot in the middle of ferrying a helicopter from New York to Ohio. Fast service, and wide views of the runway from pretty much everywhere in the dining area.
Food was good and prices were good. Good portions. The weird guy running around yelling at us was a little bit much.
We ordered Falafel Sandwich and Vegetarian Platter. The portion size was too small and the falafel sandwich was too dry. The sandwich had a piece of tomato and a small amount of hummus only on one side. The portion size of the $17 vegetarian platter is in the picture. The taste was good but again we weren't satisfied. Vegetarian options: Falafel Sandwich Vegetarian Platter
The chefs here really know how to make a delicious meal! All the staff were really friendly and the pretty decorations make for a nice Middle Eastern experience. Highly recommend the lamb gyro, hummus and the tabbouleh!
Called ahead to confirm hours of operation. Was informed they closed at 2 for lunch. Showed up after an hour and a half drive for special birthday dinner only to be told they were closed at 130. When I questioned was told the kitchen closed at 130...seriously? They could have said that when I called. Poor business practice. No longer our special go to place. Such a shame.
I keep trying. Takeout portions are small for the price. Pita was dried out. But, my greatest frustration was the tahini which is usually my main reason for going. The tahini tasted terrible in a way I can’t describe, thick and pasty, and more sauce than vegetables. I had to spit out my first bite. Guess it’s time to give up and watch them fade away.
Firstly… they close @ 8pm. That doesn’t mean they stop serving @ 8pm but that you’ve to bed GONE by 8pm. That’s very early. Secondly, the service was not good. The server rarely came over to the table, they only did to take our order, give us water, and get the check. We shouldn’t need to flag someone down when there were only 2 other groups in the entire restaurant. Lastly, the food was bad AND overpriced. We ordered a “pound” of mussels in a wine and butter sauce. It was just butter and salt, as they either cooked the wine out of it entirely or never added any to begin with… and I say “pound” because it included the shells which is easily 65% or more of the weight. You get maybe 12-15 mussels for $12!! I got phyllo wrapped salmon for my entrée … that was more dough than fish. There was much dough that it upset my stomach. They also gave me CANNED green beans on a $21 plate as a side. CANNED. The desserts were also bad. I ordered the choclava, which was baklava with their “signature twist of chocolate…” it was severely UNDERCOOKED phyllo dough with… HERSEYS chocolate sauce poured on top. I know the smell of cheap chocolate sauce out of a bottle and that’s what the was. Overall, terrible. If y’all want to stay open and not go bankrupt, take the criticisms and fix them instead of shrugging it off. Awful. It has a nice view though.
Very hospitable staff. Ordered the vegetarian platter and grape leaves as an appetizer. The platter was delicious and included hummus, tabbouleh, baba ganoush, and warm pita. The grape leaves were not the best. I ordered the salmon special entree and I wasn’t very impressed. Overall it was a good experience and they do have some good authentic Mediterranean dishes.
Delicious well flavored falafel and toasted Pita plate for $12 with friendly service and a view of sleepy Morgantown airport, great package deal.
A quiet, relaxing atmosphere with consistently delicious Mediterranean cuisine. Everything is always fresh. American fare offered, as well. The service is always courteous. Tastefully decorated with expansive windows overlooking airport and mountains. A decades old tradition in Morgantown and for good reason. Patronage tends toward professionals, couples and a more sedate clientele. Great for a business lunch, a quiet meal with friends or to treat your best honey. Splurge on dessert...the chocklava is decadent!!
