Morgantown Municipal Airport is a city owned, public use airport located three nautical miles east of the central business district of Morgantown, a city in Monongalia County, West Virginia, United States. The airport is also known as Walter L. Bill Hart Field. It is mostly used for general aviation, but is also served by one commercial airline with scheduled passenger service subsidized by the Essential Air Service program.
As per Federal Aviation Administration records, the airport had 10,239 passenger boardings in calendar year 2012, a decrease of 4.1% from the 10,674 enplanements in 2011 and 12.7% from the peak enplanements of 11,727 in 2009. This airport is included in the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a primary commercial service airport.
While the airport's runway cannot handle larger airplanes, it has filed a request with the Federal Aviation Administration to lengthen the runway.
