Barbara is incredible. She was patient-needs-oriented and helped my 12-years son go through his first dentist visit after a severe traumatic experience with painful treatment nearly four years ago. She helped him to embrace himself and start to believe in dentists again! Doctor John was sincerely interested in us. It was nice talking to him. I appreciate that no unnecessary procedure was assigned, considering my son’s fears. Also, I liked the office, and the staff was amiable. I felt welcomed and valued.
My daughter had a bad toothache and swelling and couldn't get into her usual dentist for a few days. The staff here was exceptional and were so gentle and kind with my 12 year old who was clearly in a lot of pain. They took their time explaining everything and comforted my daughter as well as myself during the visit. Most definitely would recommend to anyone!
All-around professional and courteous treatment by the staff during my time there. Reasonable waiting time, clean organized area, and polite interaction by the office staff, the dental hygienist, and the dentist while I was there. A good place to make an appointment. -Jim M.
Summary: Great work, great staff, but avoid if you have any kind of panic attack or anxiety disorder. The office staff here are very welcoming, professional, and easy to work with; I've had no problems with scheduling or payments, and they have all treated me with kindness and care. However, if you are autistic, have an anxiety or a panic disorder, or become nervous at the dentist in general, this may not be the place for you. Very little is explained about the procedure itself by the doctor, during which there was a lot of yanking and pushing. My mouth was yanked open by two hands without warning to push a bite block in. I was struggling with breathing and panicking at one point during a procedure, and Dr. Kanegawa held my head down, put a tool in front of my face, and told me that if I did not get still, he would shred my tongue. I proceeded to have a full panic attack in the chair and had to stop to recover. None of the staff asked me if I was okay, they just wordlessly left the room, then came back 10 minutes later and began working again. Dr. Kanegawa does great, efficient work on teeth, I only wish that he showed the same compassion and care for his patients that the rest of his team does. I expect the remainder of the work I'm having done will be done very well, but I will be looking for a new provider once it is finished.
If you care at all about your teeth, DO NOT GO HERE! I went in for a cleaning and complaints of tooth pain. They did x-rays and according to them, I had a small cavity in the tooth I was experiencing pain in. I went back to have it filled the following week. I had THE WORST pain after this appointment and took leftover pain meds for a previous medical surgery because OTC was not touching the pain. I am still experiencing awful pain in the tooth over two weeks later. It hurts to eat, it hurts if I close my mouth in general, and it especially hurts if anything hot or air touches the tooth. They have offered me to go back and have them look at it but I refuse to allow them anywhere near my mouth again. The reason for this is because on two separate occasions that I talked to them on the phone regarding this, they've tried to act like it's completely normal for whatever might be going on to happen. I've had fillings before and have never in my life experienced this kind of pain from a filling. Do not let the good reviews deceive you. Their facility is also not clean. There is a very visible layer of dust on the light they use while working on you as well as cobwebs and dead bugs in the windowsills of the room where I had my cleaning. I had bad vibes from the beginning but fell for the good reviews despite my own better judgment and regret it. Because of insurance coverage limits, I am now paying OOP for new x-rays from the dentist that is going to be fixing the issue.
Just want to make parent's aware, they tried to keep me from going back with my child while getting work done. Upon refusing this, because my daughter was nervous and wanted me back there, I was given nothing but attitude from the dentist. I am a nurse, and know they legally couldn't make me stay in the waiting room Claimed it was because I would be in the way, and snapped that "you are in the way" when he entered. I was, in fact, NOT in the way. For the whole procedure. Also gave me attitude when I said I don't normally leave my children alone when they request I come. We've had 3 other offices in our lifetime, and with moves....never have I been asked to stay in the waiting room while my child gets work done. This was only our 2nd visit, canceled their upcoming appts, and will be going elsewhere.
This was my first experience at American Dental Care. I went in for a regular check-up/cleaning - I was seen by Barbara who did a thorough job when cleaning my teeth. She gave me tips on how to keep my teeth healthy. I then saw Kiarra and Dr. Jon to get a fillling. I was nervous due to previous a filling experience at another dental office. They made it an overall great experience, they all made sure to check in to see if I was okay throughout my procedure. It was a comfortable experience, I definitely recommend coming to American Dental Care!
I came in March 1 to get a filling removed and replaced. My dentist did a wonderful job removing the filling. He then told KIM to do the reconstruction. She did an amazing job. She kept me informed of what she was doing as she made progress. She certainly knew what she was doing. I would recommend her to anyone who is nervous about having dental work done. Thank you, Miss Kim.
Everyone from the front desk receptionist , hygienist and doctor were great . I have new dental insurance and had to switch dentist. American Dental made it an easy and pleasant experience .
I had a cleaning done with Rose for the first time in a while so I was a bit nervous but she was amazing! Talked to me through the entire appointment and really educated me on what I needed to work on for my teeth. I had a great check up with Dr. John, I 100% recommend. Thank you!
