We were looking for a quaint, cozy Italian restaurant with great food and that is definitely what we found with Amici Cafe. They were busy 7pm on Friday night but we were seated and served quickly. The waiter was super friendly, attentive, and willing to answer all of our questions. The bread with olive oil dip was amazing, and the fried green tomatoes were just the right combination of juicy tomatoes and crunchy breading, and the Ceasar salads were just right. The lasagna was perfect, with the sausage just a tad spicy and the red sauce thick and wonderful, and the chicken and pesto tortellini had just the right amount of lemon flavor that I hoped for. The lemoncello was a strong shot with very little burn, the martini made with lemoncello was wonderful, and the bartender made our other requested drinks perfectly. We will definitely return when we are back in Old Louisville!
Cute little Italian restaurant tucked on a quite street. The service was quick, our waiter Chris was great conversation and our food was authentic Italian. The menu was quite witty and fun to read, and the sangria took me ten seconds to suck back it was so good. Highly recommend the patio, ‘‘twas a lovely touch. Picture is of the chicken and sausage pizza, meatball appetizers, and x2 glasses of the house Merlot. Also the fresh bread cured my every ailment. 10/10.
You guys have never failed to satisfy. The best service hands down. The best bloody Mary's in town . I even went out on a limb and tried something new the salmon picatta , it was everything and more . And for the finale I had the tiramisu. A great finish to a great meal. Look forward to trying more of the menu.
Amici's has always been an incredible experience for me. The first time I came it was my anniversary, the second and third has been for my birthday. I had such an incredible time and enjoyed amazing food and service. Our waitress was very pleasant, AND I got a half priced wine bottle on my birthday luckily it fell on a Tuesday! Thanks for being such a cute and enjoyable stop, Amici's! The birthday cannoli made me smile~
3 of us. All three agreed it was just ok. Nothing particularly special. The one good thing was the parmesan fries. Those were good.
I've only tried their Tiramisù and it's one of the best I've tried. I lived in Italy and the ones made by 'Amici' is pretty close to the ones made there. Their recipe is original. I loved and recommend it.
Nasty rude owner .... dirty floor and bar.... food is leftover basically... food comes out cold and then they tried to reheat my plate ... noo good .... save your time ppl!!!! Don’t eat here ... dirty glasses for drinks. Place is horrible!!!
No waiting, good service, relaxing atmosphere. Very clean. Menu has right amount of choices not over whelming. Server wore a Hawaiian shirt which for me was a bit confusing. I had the Chicken Alfredo. Chicken was tender and the sauce was so creamy and buttery tasting. My favorite thing on the menu. The portions are a bit big but worth the money. The Sangria is excellent. I WILL be going back.
Absolutely amazing food! From the fresh bread to the desert, but especially the lasagna I had. I can't say enough good things. Our server Michael was outstanding, and educated us on everything. If you are looking for some good food from start to finish, and a nice atmosphere, I definitely would recommend. I will be back!
Had a delicious raspberry walnut chicken salad for lunch...as you can tell from the before and after.
