We are a small animal practice. We see cats, dogs, and pocket pets (guinea pigs, mice, etc). We do not see reptiles or arachnids. Sorry. :)

Description

We offer pet visits, house calls (when scheduled in advance), in house diagnostics, ultrasound, digital radiography, dental cleanings and extractions, acupuncture, and surgery. We do refer clients to specialty practices for complex orthopedic procedures.

Wonderful staff and care provided to pets and owners. If you're visiting in office or have questions over the phone regarding homecare, medications, or procedures, they have you covered. They know us by name and our pets even better at this point. They're our family's equivalent to a pediatrician and we know they care about our pets as much as we do. With that being said, I would strongly recommend you try to get any of the vets besides Balboni to care for your animals. He suspected our three and a half year old cat had a tumor, and did nothing besides prescribe medicines that did nothing to help her. It wasn't until months later that one of the other, better vets actually gave us a treatment plan and sent us to a practice that could help. We drove almost six hundred miles to get her the treatment she needed but at that point it was far too late. I am one hundred percent convinced his complacency killed her. I don't know if he just doesn't care or what, but we told him again and again we'd do anything to save her and we meant it. He just wasted our time when we needed to move quickly to beat the cancer that stole her from us.
Every one of my pets have come to AHOW since I was a child and I would never go anywhere else. Top of the line care and everyone employed there loves your pets like their own. Dr. Balboni and Dr. MacMillian are the kindest, most thorough and considerate vets around!
Refused to help my dog who needed painful porcupine quills removed, stated unless he was registered they could do nothing. What kind of animal hospital is this? They said I needed to go to an emergency hospital in Portland that didn’t open until 5pm 10hrs later!! Found a vets in Brunswick which was super helpful and operated on my dog straight away.
Love this place the veterinarians here treat my cat KitKat like its there own cat KitKat looks forward to seeing them and always feels love when he goes they make him feel welcomed and secure while he is there great veterinarian staff are willing to help you with payment arrangements and definitely make you feel welcomed Definitely A Great place to Go For your pets Highly recommended I give it A 5 Rating KitKat Gives It as Well Best Veterinarian In The Area ‍‍‍

This is mine and my husbands husky. We've had her for almost four years. It's been a wild time for us with her. I want to share my experience with Animal Hospital of Waterville. Animal Hospital of waterville will always get my service. They have always had our dog and cats best interest at heart. Last summer, Luna developed a contusion to her spine. It was after hours, so we took her to androscoggin animal hospital where they sent me to Scarborough. Knowing it was a spinal injury my husband and I had no idea what we were in store for. While she was able to come home in 48 hours, Animal Hospital of Waterville called us every other day to check on her. Scarborough called me once and they're the ones that saw her! I was completely in awe that they called me every other day. Fast forward a couple months after. She was just shy of her 30 days after getting her rabies vaccine when a fox with rabbies entered our home and attacked her. I immediately put her into the car and off to the vet I went. They brought her right in, checked her over and gave her a shot to be safe. I was there for maybe an hour. They charged me for a tech visit. I was in panic mode and they not only took care of my baby girl but they helped calm me down. They really do treat your animals as if they are their own. I can't speak for other people, but I can speak for myself. This vet has been my life savor and they never make me question if my babies are in the right hands. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Luna loves you and that's more than enough for me.
Many, many thanks to Dr. Paul and to Marsha for their generous kindness to a community member in need. You relieved a lot of pain, both human and canine.
They are great. I am very picky on who I bring my baby's to and when I bring them here I know that they will take great care of them like it was there own.
Always feels like your going to see your friends! Always are just as worried about the best interest of the animals as if they're the OWNER! NO other vet I have been too has ever felt like this !!! They are FAMILY! Not just there to hurry you through, just to make them RICH !!!!!
The staff do an amazing job with my two dogs and also with my two cats. They always get us in for an appointment in a timely manner, and they don't push products on us, which is great. The other perk is they have a lab on site so test results come back really fast.
