A great experience, how fun to have an indoor water park! I am generally not into any kind of adventure parks or water parksexcept for the hot tub, I loved it!! but the boys had so much fun!! Loved the fact that we could stay right where the park was. Food was good, rooms were okay too. Would definitely return some time.
We have been here two times now during sub zero winter temps. Six years ago and recently in 2022 a week before Christmas. Our now adult children enjoyed the indoor water park. We stayed for three nights which seems about the perfect stay during the winter. It’s so warm inside and the staff does a great job at maintaining and keeping the entire resort and rooms clean. Our first night sleep was not good. Our room was on the second floor and our neighbors directly above us had unruly and noisy kids running and jumping around till 2 am. We called front desk at 10 pm about the noise and they sent security but to no avail. So the next day we requested a different room and they accommodated us immediately to a nicer and quiet room. It made our stay so nice. My adult children enjoyed all of the extreme water slides and we all enjoyed the Master Blaster. Our all time favorite is the lazy rivers and the outdoor hot tubs. Something for all ages and interests. Great family fun!!
Very well staffed. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Brock was our server in the Double Cut restaurant. He made our dinner very enjoyable with suggestions on the menu. We did not use the water park as we were here for a brief business conference. Would like to return with the rest of our family enjoy all the amenities. What is great is you have so much to enjoy without ever leaving the resort property.
We stayed with a group of about 25 and we had blast. Spacious rooms overseeing the pool which was great. Enjoyed sitting on my room balcony. Plenty of restaurants food was great. Lots to do for everyone. I thought that being next to the highway would be a negative but in reality you won’t even notice it. Will definitely be staying here again. Decent price for the fun and wonderful experience.
We were here for a dance convention, not for pleasure, so mostly out of the hotel room and spent 45 min at the water park. The service is friendly, the prices for food and drinks are expensive almost $10 for a large drink, no thanks, what gives? and I didn't even look at the gift shop. The decor was really neat though. The room we had in the sands area was nice until we tried to go to sleep. The walls are paper thin and could use a fresh coat of paint and the connecting room had young children screaming for hours and the parents just let themwasn't English so no idea what they were screaming about. Could hear every person walking by in the hall. Whoever was in the balcony above us was super loud and stomping around. Overall it was very frustrating trying to sleep. The vanity was nice but the water closet was tiny and the shower head was disgusting and old. Honestly I don't see what all the hype is about. If we ever come back for the water park, we'll probably stay at a different hotel. Or just go to a different park. Rooms: The walls are paper thin but the rooms have good space. Food & drinks: Imo, everything is way over priced.
We had so much fun in the indoor water park at Kalahari! We had a toddler and an older girl and they had the perfect slides for both children. The hot tubs were perfectly hot, and the lazy river was very good. The indoor water park, and the theme park were all very family friendly. We really loved our stay there.Rooms: 5/5
The back corner of the water park is great for little kids and the water is warmer for the babies. There are some noticeable areas of the water park that do need updating and the volume inside is a bit much for really little kids. The room was surprisingly nice although I definitely wouldn't stay here if I had to pay full price.Rooms: 4/5
We had an absolute blast here! If you have kids, take them. My whole family had such an amazing time. I'm from Chicago, so the drive was great, but well worth it. We could have gone to a local water park but it was highly recommended. We definitely be backRooms: 5/5
VERY unhappy with our stay at the Kalahari. We planned a girls get-away for a friend who recently got married. We where very excited to spend some quality time together. We decided to eat at the Pub. We asked the waitress how the fish fry was and she said it was amazing! So, all four of us ordered it. The fish was deep fried and soon we noticed that it was water on our plate. I think we all ended up only eating half. It was not good. Soon after we all became very sick. I even went to the store and purchased Tums which did very little to help. After filling out a survey explaining our horrible dinner, management reached out but seems difficult to get anywhere with them. Lesson learned, I will NEVER eat at the Pub!! It took me two days to finally feel better.
I was hoping for a great experience, unfortunately it was anything but. I was called a day before and offered a “room upgrade” for $250. The bathroom had chunks of hair almost as if someone cut it all over the floor. They charged multiple charges that were inaccurate and a $75 towel charge even though they were scanned back in and returned. To top it off my young children had to witness an outrageous incident at the entrance of the pool. We went to enter and men were holding down a woman kicking, screaming, and yelling profanities. Kids should not have to witness that at a family resort and it should have been handled much differently. I’ve never reached out to a company about an experience but with feeling like I got scammed on a room and overcharged on multiple items, I did. I got put on hold then hung up on. I then responded to the emails and their billing/guest services answered one then when I addressed my issues stopped answering completely. Absolutely ridiculous. Save your money and go to Great Wolf Lodge across the street.
