After seeing the reviews on this office, I was apprehensive about my appointment. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Upon arrival the front staff was amazing. My wait time was about 10 minutes before I was greeted by a nurse practitioner who escorted me to my exam room & she took my vitals & did a preliminary background on my medical history She was very professional & could not have been nicer. I was then examined by a PA who then brought the Dr in to discuss prognosis & possible treatments. I was very impressed with everyone at this office.
Since Dr.Herbst retired this office has gone done hill. I wait consistently at every visit. So far today it's been 40 minutes and there was only 1 person in the waiting room.
He is very kind, very thorough.
This office has gone downhill since Dr. Herbst retired. A few of the office staff need a lesson or two in communication and customer service. The attitudes experienced are deplorable. Everyone's schedules are tight nowadays and the lack of a sense of urgency and respect for anyone else's time besides their own is evident. I've sat waiting for an hour at times past my scheduled appointment time. Then to be given an eye roll by the checkout person when your schedule doesn't fit with their limited availability due to your own commitments and responsibilities. Maybe if you actually received your 5-10 minutes with the physician on or around your appointment time, it wouldn't be so inconvenient to fit in appointments. Not to mention all of the other poor experiences I've had with this office.
Zero stars - terrible service since Dr. Engels left. He was a star physician. As for the PA's nurse, I have been without medication for several months, even with private insurance, repeated attempts of communication & yet zero help or compassion. They speak very demeaning & rude to patients.
The comment that the staff is always friendly was clearly written by a staff member because they are as friendly as a pit of snakes. I asked for a report to be sent to a specialist and received a huff and eye roll with a dramatic production of finding a piece of paper for me to write his information on. It’s no surprise that he didn’t receive it. The PA I saw was professional but I’d avoid this place altogether because of the front office. I guess they don’t really have to be personable because they’re the only show in town.
My doctor electronically requested that this practice schedule an appointment for me ASAP as he wanted me seen somewhere within the month locally or out of town. When over a week has passed and we hadn't heard from them, my doctor scheduled an appointment in Cleveland. Nine business days later I got the initial call from their scheduler but I never called them back. 15 days later they called.me back again to see if I wanted to schedule. No thanks--with that kind of follow up I can only imagine the wait to actually get an appointment or the service once I get there.
If you search for Rheumatologists is this area you will realize that they are not easily found. I do not want to drive 100 plus miles away to a healthcare expert. When referred to a Rheumatologist I was fortunate to find Dr. Leeza Patel at Arthritis associates of Erie. My PCP and local Hospital could not help me with the severe debilitating condition that I have. After starting treatment with Dr. Patel I had relief from my condition in days. It's been 9 months now and I am full of hope and trust that I can lead a productive life with the expert dedicated treatment from Arthritis Associates.
I saw Dr. Herbst multiple times at this facility, requesting a diagnoses for my joint pain and swelling. He was arrogant, rude, talked down to me, never took any of my concerns into consideration, and never worked up any differential diagnoses besides some very basic things. He kept telling me to wait and see him in a few months, told me I had tendonitis but didn’t recommend anything for it. I ended up going to another rheumatologist at another facility who took one look at me and instantly knew I had Ankylosing Spondylitis. I lost months of my time progressively getting worse even though I was trying to get treatment from him and other providers. Don’t waste your time with Dr. Herbst. He is arrogant and compassionless.
Watch your bills from this place. They say they sent me a series of bills over a three month period, when in fact they didnt. So without argument on Jan 29 2016 I paid the bill with late payments. Now these people sent me another bill for the same thing, with new late payments. I have my receipts of payment but you as a patient need to keep your records. This place double dips and obviously are incompetent about keeping their records straight. BEWARE, will never go back and this is definitely going viral.
