The Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Los Angeles County is a member organization comprised of attorneys, judges, commissioners and law students throughout Los Angeles County. It is a voice for issues of concern to the Asian Pacific Islander community. APABA provides legal education and assistance to underserved Asian Pacific Islander communities and also sponsors programs in professional development, community education, and law student mentorship.
In 1998, the Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA) was established and adopted the following multifaceted mission:
To establish a broad base of membership that is reflective of the ethnic and cultural diversity of the Asian/Pacific Islander American (APIA) community in the greater Los Angeles area;
To provide a vehicle and forum for the unified expression of opinions and positions by the Association upon current social, political, economic, legal or other matters or events of concern to its members;
To foster the exchange of ideas and information amongst and between Association members and other members of the legal profession, the judiciary and the community;
To encourage and promote the professional growth of the members of the Association;
To provide an opportunity for fellowship among the Association's members;
To develop and encourage inter-cooperation with and between other bar organizations, especially other minority bar associations; and To provide coordinated service to the community-at-large as well as the local APIA community.
