1 Only time in recent memory I wasn't able to get to a location, find my name on the Preferred board, get my car and be on my way in 5 minutes. The app didn't show my car, so had to get in line. Called Customer Service and they were unhelpful, and said my only option was to wait my turn in line. 2 Preferred counter was unoccupied during business hours, so went down to the main counter. Signage said if you were Preferred, to just go straight to the car, but the app didn't assign a car. 3 The line was 2 hours long, with only a single employee working not her fault. This was from 1 to 3 AM. At 2 am, they sent everyone upstairs and outside to wait in a another line at the Preferred counter, which somehow moved even slower than the original line. Typically, my experiences at Avis have been positive over the course of 10 years. Everything about my experience at Avis MSY was very, very poor.
Totally dissatisfied with my experience with Avis. The cars seem to be not be properly serviced. I experienced a blow out and waited for their Roadside Assistance to show up for over 2 hours. They never showed up nor did they call. Thankfully, I was able to call a wrecker through my personal insurance to get me off the busy highway. I was pretty much stranded waiting on an unreliable service to show up that does not follow through. I didnt get a picture of the blown out tire because I was so distressed and overwhelmed. I received a second rental, only after challenging the representative to figure out a solution, to receive a car that also had problems. The battery charge decreased my entire drive. Also, the car had brake issues. Which is DANGEROUS! One dangerous car after another. Also, if you decide to travel after 7, you will not be able to get in touch with Avis. Overall, horrible experience and things need to be changed internally.I believe this problem began because people want to shortcut their jobs which definitely jeopardized my safety.
The process at pickup only took 5 min max. The Tesla we rented was great. The staff at the counter were pleasant. The drop off was simple as well. Just pull up and drop the car leave the key and go. The shuttle back to the terminal was waiting to take us back to the airport.
Best rental car experience ever! I was skeptical after reading the reviews but Chris was helpful and amazing. His professionalism went above and beyond our expectations. The young lady at the counter was also friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t rent from anyone else when visiting NOLA.
Awful. Spoke to two people on phone who told me a Lexus ES350 was a premium crossover. Finally got an RX350 that smelled like smoke. I should have exchanged for something right there, but late at night and drove to NOLA, clothes smelled like smoke. Exchanged at downtown location next day and lady there couldn't believe it passed the quality review at airport. There was a slip where someone signed off that it was clean and up to Avis standards. I couldn't find more people trying less than this group.
If I could give a zero here I would. Super shady company as when we picked the vehicle up and were asked if we wanted to add additional drivers, they mentioned nothing of a fee, in fact said no it wouldn’t change anything. We had already paid but after returning the vehicle, received an additional $197 charge without any explanation. When we called they said it was for adding an additional driver. What the heck?! We had no need to do so, and if we had known it cost extra would not have done that but they never mentioned anything about an additional fee to do so. Now I have a case open. Hopefully the company will make it right. First time renting from Avis was not a good experience.
Hey there! Just wanted to share my recent experience renting a car from Avis at the New Orleans airport. It was such a smooth process, even though we did it last minute. Our original transportation fell through, so we were relieved to find that Avis had the exact vehicle we needed. Plus, they allowed us to do a convenient one-way rental to our home airport in Atlanta. All we needed was a credit card and to pay the deposit, which was later returned to us. The front desk staff was also really fast and efficient, making the whole experience stress-free. Highly recommend renting from Avis!.
A joke. Car was returned 15 minutes late due to an accident on route and I was charged a full extra day. I also refilled the gas to exactly how it was handed to me, but their paperwork said it was full so I was charged hundreds of dollars in fuel service fees for 1 missing gallon. When I offered to compare mileage with my gas receipt the attendant rejected it and charged me anyways it seems. My $70 rental is now $345. I will never use Avis again. 0 attempt to build customer loyalty on their behalf.
I appreciated the shuttle from the airport to the rental facility. The service line was handled quickly with little waiting. Paperwork was completed I only needed to pick up my keys and get in my car. Return was a breeze. Just follow the arrows and a representative inspected the car to make sure nothing was left behind. She took my keys and I was off. The Courtesy shuttle took me to the airport. I was grateful for no hassle and little waiting.
I booked my rental online and when I went to pick up the car, they couldn't use my credit card because there wasn't enough on the card for the security deposit. When booking online the security deposit amount needs to be part of the confirmation, that way people can prepare properly. Then upon returning the car I contacted customer service because of the charges. I'm supposed to be receiving a refund for some overcharges an I'm still waiting on that. I am a Preferred member with Avis and I've never had these issues before.
