Car rental can be a tricky business, with hidden fees and charges making the experience less than enjoyable. However, my recent experience with National Car Rental has been nothing short of pleasant. As I landed in New Orleans, I was in alert mode, unsure of what to expect from the car rental service. But to my surprise, everything was as described and there were no hidden fees or charges. The National Car Rental staff were friendly and welcoming, despite it being a late night. The service was smooth and quick, and I was on my way in no time. The car was in excellent condition, clean and well-maintained. The rental process was hassle-free, and the staff was helpful in answering any questions that I had. When it was time to return the car in Orlando, the experience was just as smooth. The staff was courteous and efficient, and the process was quick and easy. There were no surprises or unexpected charges, and I was able to return the car with peace of mind. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with National Car Rental. The experience was pleasant and stress-free, and the staff was friendly and professional. I no longer have to worry about hidden fees and charges, as National Car Rental has won me over with their transparency and excellent customer service.
This location charged my corporate account by the wrong rate which ended up more than doubling my fare for my weekly rental from $250 to $550. The local team was not helpful and neither was the escalations team over the phone. I rent a car almost every week for work and this has never happened to me until this location. I highly recommend choosing one of the many other competitors at MSY over National/Enterprise.
I think this is my least favorite national location out of the 20 or 30 locations I have visited. The cars are definitely not the nicest at this location. I have yet to receive a car that has not already been dinged up in some shape. Additionally, when you mention the dings during the checkout process, staff don’t actually record it. I had to ask several times before they would actually record it as an issue. Usually the cars smell heavily of cigarettes, but luckily this time I have not had any issue with it. We were lucky and getting one of the newer cars that have been brought to this location. Returning cars themselves is a bit confusing as the signage is not clearly posted. Just put this location in your GPS and follow it, however when you get close, start looking at roadways to ensure you are going the right way to return the car. If you plan on going from here to the downtown New Orleans area, plan on it taking at least 40 minutes due to bad traffic.
Angelia working at the car return needs to be fired immediately. No one should ever yell at a customer like she was. She stood in the way of vehicles parking then yelled when people had to back up to get in the lane. Trash customer service.
My family and I recently rented a car from the National in New Orleans airport and we could not have received better service from their employee Crystal! She was so sweet and helpful as we were traveling with small children. Wish the world had more people like Crystal. Thank you!
The company lets you book a reservation online even if they don’t have vehicles. According to the woman at the counter they can refuse any reservation because they overbook. Don’t get left standard at midnight with no other options like us.
Worst experience with customer service !! The national agent don’t care if you are standing next to the car you want! They quickly runs into the car and gets the keys to hold on for the customer they prefer to give the keys to! What’s the point of being a member then? This location definitely needs to learn to respect their customers! Horrible experience! Never choosing national car rental at MSY location again!
This was not the service level I’ve come to expect. No vehicles to choose from so had to wait over 30 minutes. I understand the car shortages and higher mileage vehicles, but you need to spend $$$ to maintain the vehicle. This rental had a key. That’s it. No fob. No tag to help with hotel registration or vehicle identification. No floor mats. And the rubber strip under the pedals was loose and I kept catching my foot. Please do better.
Had a horrible experience with National. Safety concerns with the car. Car smelled like it had been smoked in and National did nothing. Told the attendant when I left the rental center the issues with the car and nothing. There were no other rental available so it was this car or nothing. I had about 10% visibility with the rear view mirror. The passenger panel was coming off and the stench was unbearable. Call the main National phone line with nothing they could do and when I brought it back they did not offer anything. If my company didn’t have a contract with them I would be done. Good luck on your next rental from them in New Orleans.
Very friendly team and helpful when I needed to change the credit card I was billed to. National is always my preferred car rental at an airport.
