Worst experience in renting from Avis in 30 years of business travel -  1- Car was not clean - see photo 2- Car was not safe - required maintenance as indicated on dash 3- Windshield fluid was empty - unsafe driving for me on the highway when I needed it. 4 - Tank was not full - contract indicated full. Upon return,  I asked for credit, showing the amount of gas I put in right after getting the car. The Avis Representative said she could do nothing about it  no issues with charging for gas 5- overall experience was poor with representative who lacked training or skills  did not appear to care  to help navigate a poor product experience with a minimal level of customer service.  I will followup with corporate as well to recover the $45 owed.

Rent a one way vehicle from this location to Airport. Terrible management and customer service at this location. Girl who Seat there are rude and unprofessional, she not have to work with customers at all!!!! Did reservation, did online check-in, paid and online, money charged from account. 40 min before vehicle pick-up received a call from avis and they said that they do not have any available vehicles for me any size. While I was on my way I stop at their location, but there plenty vehicles on lot, for that they said that all those vehicles received by other people, but I'm not same as other people???? Where they was yesterday???? They didn't give me any time ahead to find something else with other companies, just 40 minutes!!!!! Now I'm lost my airplane and my trip. If they can not manage their inventory then this place need different management!!!!

I’ve made two reservations with this Avis and every time I book it online they call me to say they have no cars available, and I have to call the 1800 number to get my money refunded. Mind you the inventory online says that they have five or more cars available. I then proceeded to give them another try and book another reservation with this location, and called directly to the office to see if they had any available the clerk said yes… I went in person 2 to 3 minutes after calling for her to tell me that they don’t have any cars available for my requested date and that I would have to book from a day prior… and gave me a ridiculous price! When the price and car availability were different on the site. The front desk clerk is rude, always has an attitude, and quick to rush you off the phone or rush you out of the establishment… I’ve called to put in a complaint and was given the run around. I now have to go to another Avis location In which I’ve never had a problem/s or with another company because this location where I live can’t seem to get it right. I wish I could give this location 0 stars…

I have done business with this Avis Stonybrook location for almost 10 years. The owners and staff have always exceeded my expectations. If I’m renting a car for a business trip or family vacation, they always have the right vehicles available.  Last summer they took extra time to help my wife select a vehicle to suit the need of an older relative.  I did not not expect the staff to do so much to make sure my wife was satisfied.  That’s customer service.  This is the only location I’ll do business.

Made a prepaid reservation for a car.  I arrived to be told there were *no* cars available at all except those they were holding for other reservations.  Why my reservation was chosen to be "cancelled by Avis" is not known.  The office was dirty and dingy.  The office was also without staff for the first 10 minutes when I arrived. The sign on the door stated they were closed, falsely.  After all that, the clerk could not give me a refund.  I was given an 800 number and told "good day sir."  Never Avis away from an airport again.

Up on picking up the car the young lady was quite rude.  Nobody came out to go over the vehicle and any damages or anything that was already there so I took my own pics just in case.  Inside the car there was streaks all over the front windshield and back that when it got dark made it really hard to see clearly.  Not sure if it was a cleaning solution or cigarette smoke but either way I did not like it at all.  Up on returning the car the young lady at that time was very pleasant and worked with me however, to be threatened to be charged $250 for a little bit of sand was quite disappointing and further there were these little white fibers/hairs in the back seat and in the trunk that the young lady said was pet hair but the kicker is I have no pets nor was any animal in the vehicle with me.  I dnt even own a pet so it really made me doubt how well they even clean these cars after each use and the records they keep of the vehicles.

Compared to other Avis locations this one is kepted up and always seasonal and holiday decorated. The employees always have a smile on their face and makes my time there a breeze to come and go. This location is my go to location for the great service and clean cars.

No stars for this one is the rating I want to give.  Reserved a car a few days out I get to the York location and just like that they have no cars.  Was told they took them all away not sure who they are.  I supposedly got a call 2 hours before my pickup time but I have no missed calls on my phone they did have the right number. If I got a call why would I be showing up at your location.  Plus no voicemail so I'm doub  I asked can you help me look for one at another Avis location.... nope can't do that can only look up their location.  Calling the 800 number wasn't any better.  Just an awful, inconvenient experience.  Do not rent from this location they don't know what they are doing.  I was able to get a vehicle from a competitor.  Wish I had started with them and not Avis.

Terrible service. The car was dirty when we picked it up. Then I had to have the oil changed 2 days into having it. I had it washed the first day and dare they ask if I had a dog in the car because there was a hair. They made us sweep it out or charge us $250. Never again!

I had a reservation for a moving truck WITH a confirmation number. Showed up on moving day and the guy who was sitting in the back room, watching movies, told me they only had one truck there and it was reserved for someone else. I explained to him that I had a reservation and was moving that day. The guy had no sympathy whatsoever and did not try to remedy the situation. He said he called me to confirm and that I didn’t pick up the phone. I had no missed calls and no voicemails from Budget. He seemed very disinterested in that He was already making his was back to the back room while I was in the middle of explaining my predicament. I am now out of a moving truck on moving day and am currently trying to figure out where to get a truck. I will never use budget again
