I will NEVER RENT from Avis again.  We attempted to pick up a rental for which we made a reservation for months in advance.  I wanted to use a $100 rewards certificate we got FROM AVIS but the agent clearly did not know how to apply the certificate even though AVIS corp had provided detailed instruction with the certificate.  Once he figured it out, then he stated my driver's license had "issues".  He stated that I "probably had driving issues" so he couldn't honor the reservation.  That is absolutely bogus which I verified with our state agency just to make sure.  TOM - MY DRIVING RECORD is clean.  So, I'm thinking he didn't know how to apply the rewards certificate his own company sent us, so he denied our reservation leaving us stranded 600 miles from home.  I will never, ever rent from Avis again.  Oh and I have rewards certificate if anyone dares to try and actually use it.

Do not rent from this place. They rented a car with expired plates to me. I tried to get a different car with non expired tags and he would not give it to me . He stated that most of the cars had expired plates. So you told him I didn’t want the rental anymore because that reason and still charged me a day rental.

I have recently had to rent cars due to my own automobile being in the shop for repairs, however I've dealt with this location and Dallas for well over 15 years and I have never had nothing but the best experiences every single time. My cars were always clean my wait times were never more than 2 or 3 minutes and that was usually because another customer was in front of me.  I was ALWAYS treated with respect and some of the best customer service that I ever received anywhere I've ever rented a car before. Honestly every Avis that I've used even when I've been on vacation or travelled out of state. Just want to say thank you Dallas and Avis for such amazing service.

The gentlemen working the desk were friendly and very professional. Although the site had discontinued after-hours drop-off after we'd made our reservation, they were happy to accommodate our return date we were coming back from vacation. The car we rented was immaculate and clean. It gave us no trouble on our 14+ hour drive. Excellent service and product!

Staff was friendly and helpful, straight to the point and flexible. The car was acceptable and worked well for the purposes. The car was what I specifically asked for- an economy, and this helped me save money. I was able to drop the vehicle off without a hitch since I dropped it in the lock box. Also, best price around.

I picked up a car from the Collinsville site to drive to my house so it could be used on a weekend trip. The associate pointed out, from inside, paint chips on the front bumper that he attributed to someone at another site chipping the paint with a hose when washing the car.  He did not inspect the car with me and I admit, I did not inspect the car before leaving the parking lot. When he pointed out the paint chips, I took  that as the only damage. When I arrived home and got out of the car, I noticed the bumper had more than chipped paint.  The whole front bumper was  loose.  Also, when I got in the car I noticed a faint smell that could have been cigarettes. I wasn't sure.  It became stronger as I drove the car.  When I pulled over to call the office, no one was available and it was close to closing time. My fear is that I will be blamed for the cigarette smell when I don't even smoke and be charged a hefty fee to clean the car.

First time avis renter. Second time ever renting a car. Used a debit card to rent the car ahead on line. When I went to pick up the car the guy working was not friendly. Told me and the guy in front of me that you had to have a credit card for the deposit of $250 or no car. Cash is no good.  Did not have smoking cars. Sticker on the window said they keep the deposite, $250 if you smoke in it. That was fine. But when returning the car the same unfriendly man tried to charge me $400. When I told him what the sticker said. Under his voice he said they would not rent to me again.  On the night of returning home on our trip. My kid locked the key in the trunk with the doors locked. This was at 1am. We called avis emergency services number and they said they could have someone out in 65 minutes. 90 minutes later we called back and we was told nobody was coming. We had to call back to get someone else. Their guy finally made it out at 6am to open the car.

The van we rented was not clean. The windows were especially dirty. We asked to pick up the van a little early and were told we could not, that Avis does not rent on an hourly basis. We understood that and agreed to pay for an extra day, so we would be picking up at 10:30 AM instead of noon. Well, we thought our extra day would mean getting the vehicle back at 10:30 AM Tuesday instead of noon on Monday. That was not the case. So in reality, Avis did rent per hour, but charged per day. That was very disappointing.

This place is horrible and ripoff and very shady. He dont give a dam and it's always everybody else fault. Held my deposit for weeks plus charged my account after the rental.

Based on my latest experience. I don't know if I'll ever rent from Avis ever again. I had to swap out my vehicle. Low tire pressure on the spare tire & the original tire. I had to drive 1hr 30 mins to exchange the vehicle not knowing if the location was open or even if a vehicle was available. Remember I'm doing this on the tires that are the issue.
