I'm so fed up with Babies R Us. Every time we go in there, there is an issue. We did our baby registry there and you get a 10% back coupon which is awesome, what is NOT awesome is the fact you can't price match with Target and still use the 10% off. Why would a I use my 10% off coupon at all if I'm still getting a cheaper price at Target. Specifically this day we went into Babies R Us excited about buying things for baby, we asked an assoiciate as soon as we got in there if they price match Amazon. She said yes. So we spent about an hour wasting our time picking things out and we got to the registry, same sales associate, we were price matching and it happened to be amazon prime she said no we only price match Amazon, she should have clarified when we walked in the store. Needless to say, we put everything back. Different experience today, still not satisfied. We went to get similiac supplement, $8.99 online at Target was $7.19 they couldn't price match it since it being Black Friday, ridiculous. It was not a Black Friday deal it's something we NEEDED. Still couldn't price match it. Well we go to Target and it's $6.19. $2.80 difference! I took it back and they said they couldn't exchange it until 5PM! Will NEVER shop at Babies R Us again.
Here's the letter I sent them....It's been posted on their facebook page too. To whom it may concern... Since having my first baby a year and a half ago I've spent a lot of money in your store and I often find myself thinking about how dirty the store is. The bathrooms are very under kept and I make sure I never need to change my daughter on the changing table in there. It's far from sanitary not to mention old and tiny. I'd be happy to take a picture and send it to you if you don't believe me. There's black scum filling all the crevices. I always found it odd that a store that is supposed to cater to new born babies, and mothers, doesn't have a restroom fit for it's customers. I was recently very put off by an experience in your store and offended by the reaction of your employee here in Des Moines Iowa which leads me to writing you today. It was late on a week day and I was accidentally charged twice for an item that I only bought one of. No biggie. I went back in my husband and daughter waiting in the car and I waited at least 5 minutes just for someone to help me. The only other customers I could tell that were in the store were two people being checked out by one girl. There were employees in the front office talking. One in the door way which looked over at me a couple times but never mentioned to the others in there that someone needed help. Watching this person I could hear them.They were talking about personal life stories and laughing. After waiting and watching, a girl walked out and said to the girl working the register, "sorry". I knew she said it because I did not look happy and because she had been goofing around in the office leaving this one girl all alone to work. This girl still did not jump in to take care of me. The original girl working the register finally came over to correct my charge. She offered to give me a store credit. I told her I'd like the cash back and she explained that she was not supposed to because I paid with a store credit. I told her that actually I used up a small store credit which was only partial payment toward my total bill. And I said I didn't think it was fair that they charged me twice for something and I get punished for their mistake. She said she understood and just needed her manager to approve so called her over. When this lady came up she wanted to make sure that I knew that she was going to do me a 'favor' and that it was actually against store policy. Once again I told her that it was their fault that I was charged twice and I did give them cash as well as store credit. I then expressed my frustration because this had taken so long. I told her that since I came back into the store I watched 3 people come out of that front office, and I could hear them joking and laughing. She became irritated. She snapped back at me that they were working. I got my money and left. My feelings are that Babies R Us does not really care. It doesn't really care if the shelves aren't stocked, if things aren't kept neat and clean, I can't tell that they care if their customers are happy, and that when faced with an unhappy customer, that they try to make things right and know how to act professional. I also want to make you aware that a Buy Buy Baby opened up earlier last year down the road. It is a big nice bran new store. It has very clean well kept restrooms INCLUDING a nursing room with a rocker and a real changing table. Large enough for a one year old. Unlike the changing table provided in your store which fits a small baby. They keep their shelves stocked nice and neatly. They provide a lot more than your store over all. Not to mention exceptional customer service. I know they appreciate my business and they care to keep be a satisfied customer. If you don't care about your employee speaking to me unkindly and unprofessional then I won't expect an apology. And I will continue shopping exclusively at Buy Buy Baby.
I went to the checkout with the light on and nobody was there. Another lady was being helped by an employee, but 3 employees walked past me and didn't off to help or say anything. The one we have where we live is night and day difference. They make sure their customers feel valued!!!
Everyone that works there was so pleasant and helpful!! They helped me figure out how I could save the most money possible through rebates/coupons/etc. and I really appreciate them going the extra mile in that way!
A year ago I would have rated 5 stars. At This point I am very disapointed. The staff used to be fairly knowlegable and very friendly but now you get attitude and little help with The exeption of a few. If you call to ask A question you are treated as If you are bothering them.
Our registry was very enjoyable to complete here and the staff working was very helpful! This babies r us is much larger than the one near us.
Friend provided gift card for baby shower, store wouldn't accept. Avoid this place like the plague for any expecting mothers...
Expensive, but the best baby selection you can find.
