Bandits Grill and Bar Thousand Oaks

It feels like a chain restaurant, but it's been family owned for over 29-years. This was my first time eating at a Bandits' Grill & Bar. I thought the pork in the pulled pork sliders was on the stringy side and not very tender. The overall flavor wasn't bad though. Grated cheese was the signature garnish it appeared as it was on top of the fried pickles and onion rings. Not a fan. Not a good garnish for either item. No garnish on top was needed at all. Stepping away from the garnish, the fried pickles served with ranch dressing as a dipping sauce were fairly tasty. The onion rings, on the other hand, had no flavor. Too much breading and they were extremely dry for a fried food. Not looking for greasy but yowsa! These were dry. The BBQ chicken was very good. And so was the coleslaw. Service was friendly and attentive. If I ever go back, I am going to try their BBQ ribs.

Upon entering the beautifully designed establishment adorned in rustic decor, we were greeted with a welcoming smile from our host, Chris and sat in a section where we would be served by one of the friendliest, most professional and well versed waiters we’ve had since we moved to California…, Brian. What a treat he was. The food.., wow! It’s outstanding! You can smell the flavors as you walk in and they taste equally amazing. Don’t forget the garlic fries…, we are coming back, for sure! Thank you 5 STARS for sure! I’d post a pic of the food but we ate faster than I could take a picture. Lol

Busy place tucked back near the car wash off the main road. I didn’t know this place was here but my wiser half did. The house salad was awesome with thousand island dressing that tasted homemade. The garlic rolls were hot and not too garlicky. I got the full slab of baby back and Mac n cheese. Loved the Mac n cheese. Was hoping the rib meat would fall off the bone but it did not. Still tasty though. He got the trip tip and shrimp. The shrimp are grilled and he liked them. The onion ring side was bomb. Great service too.

My dinner, salmon, was fantastic and had the best flavor! We also enjoyed fried pickles and I absolutely fell in love!! Who knew? Not me but now I crave them all the time.Food: 5/5

Food was excellent. I really enjoyed the pulled pork and the burger - I came back on two separate occasions. Fries were also great. I had take out and if you are not eating at the restaurant, I do not recommend the strawberry shortcake. The reason for this is because it came deconstructed and I literally had to put it together at home. It tasted fine but the experience was lost. I would recommend only having this dessert at the restaurant.

Food is always amazing, and the service is always top notch as well too. I am a huge fan of the tri tip here, and the Mac and cheese is great as well and is a fan favorite with our group.

This place is amazing. We were pleasently greeted by the two very kind hosts and a very friendly manager at the front door. After minimal wait time we were guided to our seating. 30 seconds later we again were greeted by a wonderful server who was very pleasant and funny through out the whole night! The manager by the name Adam who greeted us at the front desk later checked in on us to see how we were doing. I must say all these people made our dinner experience unforgettable! Coming back for this experience very soon!

The food was phenomenal! Went for our anniversary and wanted to get something nice. We got the beef ribs and a steak. The price point works for our early professional and family budget and was a nice treat to celebrate with. Food takes some time to prepare, so make sure you're not in a rush, and the wait is worth it!Food: 5/5

My three sons and I went to Bandits Grill & Bar and it was a very enjoyable experience! The environment feels like a friendly saloon. Everything is wood and the light is low. There is a bar and a couple TVs above the bar. Everything looked clean. I really enjoyed that our booth was very private with a wall to ceiling separator between the neighboring booths. Our waiter was excellent. Very attentive without being overwhelming. Everyone was very friendly and I believe the owner or manager came over at the end of our meal to ask how everything was. As for the food, I did not care for the complimentary bread, but the meals were really good. Three adult entrees, a kids meal, and a brownie sundae for us to share was $105 including the tip.

Can get loud in the bar, with a name like Bandits that is to be expected. The prime rib sliders are perfect for two to share. Add a side salad or soup/chili very good chili for $3.95. Steaks are cooked to your liking. I have never seen a complaint and have been there many times. Chili could be hotter temperature. Overall, great place for all. Kids can scream if they want in the bar area. Vegetarian options: They have the standard salads and a grilled vegetable main course. If you add a side of bbq sauce the grilled veggies are great. I am more of a carnivore, however, the veg grill is a healthy alternative. I did not ask, you may want to know if they cook the dish on the same side of the grill as the meat. They also have a grilled artichoke seasonal.
