As far as customer service is concerned, this place is simply head and shoulders above the rest! On 1/23/23, I was on my way back from the local Post Office, when I decided to stop by FIVE GUYS to grab a SMALL order of fries to go. The name of the staff member behind the counter was MIGUEL. As I reached for my wallet to get a credit card to pay for my fries, MIGUEL said there was no need for me to pay as the order would be ON THE HOUSE. I asked WHY, and he said that it was simply something that FIVE GUYS would occasionally do to foster good feelings. I had had a bad day, week, month and year, so I simply couldn't believe it. I jokingly said that if I had known about the FIVE GUYS generosity beforehand, I would have requested a JUMBO order of fries : Without batting an eyelid, MIGUEL replied that he would order up a JUMBO fries and that it would be ON THE HOUSE. I was speechless. I was prepared to leave a tip that matched the price of the order, but I didn't have any small bills, so I left only a small tip. I then thought of something I could do that might possibly reward MIGUEL and his company far more than a measly tip. I asked whether he would mind if I mentioned him in online reviews of FIVE GUYS, and he replied that he would not mind. Thus, you are reading my review! I was already partial to FIVE GUYS, but you have to know that from now on, I will be going to only ONE fast food location in Thousand Oaks, and that location is FIVE GUYS. Thank you very much, MIGUEL!!! : PS The fries were simply OUT OF THIS WORLD. Nobody -- and I mean NOBODY -- serves up better french fries!
Look, lets get the positives out first. Was it a great burger? Independent of everything else during my experience id give it a 8/10 on the burger. Were the fries good? Yea, actually better than average id say 8.5/10 for the fries. This is where things get very ugly for 5 Guys. The Price My goodness, I spent $18 on just myself for a Cheeseburger & a small fry. Didnt even get a drink.... Im not getting waited on or at some 4-5 star michelin star restaurant. This is a fast food establishment. Why are we charging such exorbitant prices? Sorry five guys, i cant eat here again. Cause I can go to In N Out and get two burgers fries and a drink for less.
Five guys in general has really gone downhill after the pandemic. The soda machine was gross, its one of those 50+ flavor coke machines so anything you get tastes off i.e. get a standard coke it taste like coke and orange soda. The food was still okay but honestly I probably wont go back again. 2 burgers 2 fries and 2 drinks was a hair over 50 bucks. That price point for fast food is ridiculous and I could've sat down at a nicer restaurant like bandits, chilis, finneys, etc... for less, had better food and will be doing that from now on. Also, the automated tipping screen upon checkout is a joke, tries to force you to leave a tip for fast food. With prices that high, for food that cheap, your company should easily be able to pay your employees enough for what they do and your customers shouldnt have to subsidize wages on your behalf.
Amazing. Love the burgers here. A nice change from In & Out. Updated 11/2017 It just gets better and better. The concept here is pretty simple: Amazing burgers that have FLAVOR. Yes flavor. Unlike In & Out that has no flavor whatsoever Five Guys delivers big time. Pro Tip: Start of slow, add all the red line and ease into the black line of condiments. Try the combo that works best and you will be blown away. Oh yeah, Cajun fries all the way baby.
This place is incredibly over-hyped, underwhelming, and overpriced!! You can literally get 3 x Double Doubles from In-n-Out for the price of one mediocre Burger from this place! On a positive note, they did give me so many fries I had to throw most of them away. Although, I guess that's also a negative. More organic waste. If you're into fries then you will like this place. However, with these prices, you're paying for those one way or another as well. The restaurant itself, Thousands Oaks CA location, was not as clean as the many In-N-Outs I've visited either. Oh, and the girl that took my order made an audible, "yuck" when I asked for onions on the burger. That made me laugh. I see no reason to visit any of these locations again. If you're looking for a cheaper option, just go to In-n-Out. If you want an awesome Burger, and you live near LA, find a Fatburger! Now that is a burger worth the price.
I like their burgers. The only place I buy a burger outside of making my own at home, however, I eat burgers every blue moon. WAY OVER PRICED. It's ridiculous. In N Out is cheaper but it is HORRIBLE. I could not be paid to eat there.
Excellent quality hamburger and overall excellent feel with cleanliness. Also nice touch with self help to peanuts. Fyi. Hamburger is double patty and mini hamburger is a single.
It's a little pricey for a burger, but the people behind the counter and the people cooking have their process down. They make a great burger and some tasty Cajun fries pretty quickly and my custom burger was delivered as ordered and perfectly cooked. They must have served 25 burgers start to finish in the 8 minutes I was there. Pretty impressive.
Absolutely horrible place I come here for Uber eats and they always mark that the food is ready then make you wait literally 30 minutes to get the food ready if any Uber eats grub hub or DoorDash driver reads this do not accept orders for here they’ll make you wait an hour if possible
The stop at Five Guys was due to the love of their burgers and the fries. We had heard of the restaurant while residing in Oregon. We moved to this area and stopped by to check it out. We were enthralled with our first bite. We had not been out due to pandemic in the TO area. My son asked where I wanted to eat and there the restaurant was across the street. We ordered, left for a appointment and munched on the way. It was wonderful. The crew was sweet, quick and we were glad to be back.
