I remember Bergs when I was little, then when I had my son 37 years ago, we got his nursery furniture there. Last summer with our daughter in law due in November, we purchased all the furniture there including the most comfortable rocker and ottoman. Now with baby number 2 due in February, we will be purchasing another set of nursery furniture, including another rocker.
Terrible. The staff is rude, curt, and unhelpful. We ordered an ottoman it took months to get here, which fine- to a point I can understand with the pandemic. But we had to constantly call to get updates they said they would call us- never once did. On my final attempt when I was ready to cancel the order, it magically had just came in. Worst part is that you have to schedule a pick up which I was not told in advance of purchasing and they have very narrow 9-5 open hours. I have a 4 month old colicky and eczema laden baby who does nothing on schedule. My partner works until 6pm. That leaves Saturday as the only window of time to pick up. We are finally ready to schedule a pick up over the holiday as my partner has time off…oh moving it from the warehouse in Bedford to the store, it wouldn’t be ready to pick up from the store until Tuesday. That is a week away!!!!! How on earth am I ever supposed to get this thing! I prefer to shop local, but Buy Buy Baby and Amazon all had this item, are way better with delivery, and have kinder employees. Will never be returning here!!!!
I loved the personal service my mother-in-law and I received when shopping for my baby girl's nursery. Dave was so helpful and let us wander around to check everything out, but was ready to answer any and all questions we had. He also helped us find the perfect accessories to color-coordinate with my hard-to-match very particular nursery color combo. The ordering experience was easy and this has been the best furniture-shopping experience I've had! 85 makes me feel good to buy from a local business that has been around for a long time - my mom even ordered furniture from them back in the late 60's!
My wife and I were recommended to Bergs. Supporting local businesses is important to us, but this place has terrible customer service and almost no follow up. They were 2 months late with our babies crib. Every time we called about it we were only greeted with rude service. Our child was already born by the time Bergs got their stuff together. We were offered a 60 dollar credit, which we used in February, we ordered a knit hat at that time to use this winter, to date we still have not received it or even once received a call from Bergs. Not one call, we had to follow up on our own. It has been lie after lie and no follow through. I'm in sales, this is not how you treat your customers. Buyer beware.
Bergs bites! Order place in April and we still dont have a crib. Delays delays delays with no calls from Bergs with updates, just follow up calls from my husband with little to no information given. Once they swipe your card the customer service goes out the window. They have just caused us new parents more stress and have no remorse. I'm about a month away and dont have the most important part of my nursery. They even asked on the phone if we had a bassinet or tried to sell us a even more expensive crib they had in stock. We bought a over priced dresser to match our dream crib and now we have the dresser and no crib. It's crazy they are still in business. I will not recommend them. Still waiting for my crib. Maybe by 4th of July maybe by Christmas....seems like there moto. Safe your self the stress...dont shop at Bergs.
Berg's has a strong reputation for good service and products. Unfortunately, our experience has not reflected that. We decided to order an entire nursery set from Berg's and we were quoted 10-12 weeks for delivery. We considered one of our pieces from a competitor, but one of the reason we went with Berg's was their faster lead time. Not only was Berg's unable to meet their original quoted delivery, at week 12 we called and were told that it would be delivered within 2 weeks. Obviously that didn't happen. As we prepare to enter the 15th week since ordering, there is no delivery in sight - just vague comments that it is somewhere in the supply chain but no answer as to when it will be delivered. What is almost as disconcerting as Berg's inability to to meet their expected delivery date was that they provided zero forewarning that it was delayed and to this day still can't tell us when it will be delivered. Maybe it will only be a month late, maybe multiple months late, who knows? Certainly not Bergs. I am no expert in furniture delivery time and what affects it, however, if your multiple weeks behind schedule on delivering, missed your re-quoted date, and still don't know when it will arrive, I consider that extremely poor service. We never dreamed that we would be still putting the nursery together in the final weeks of pregnancy, let alone after our baby arrived, but with other post-furniture arrival tasks to be done and no way to schedule them because who knows when the furniture is coming, and no end in sight to this fiasco, it is starting to look like a real possibility.
David the owner is a very honest and respectable person, very pleasant to work with. The store sells the highest quality baby furniture that will hopefully last a very long time even as our children grow up! the service from purchasing to delivery and installation is top notch and they show pride in their work and have a great reputation. highly recommended to come here to purchase your baby furniture and accessories!
We headed to Berg’s to find a new chair for our nursery. They had so many great chairs and they were all at a great price. Dave was super helpful and helped me find exactly what I wanted. They were also very kind about letting my kids play with the toys while I looked at chairs. We loved shopping at Berg’s and will definitely be heading back.
We have now ordered 2 crib sets from Berg's and both experiences have been delightful!! The store offers great options and extremely helpful staff. Our 2nd set of furniture was delivered today and I just have to remark on how professional and caring the delivery was as well. Fantastic and caring professionals all around. Thank you Berg's!!
My husband and I did quite a bit of reseach on baby furniture and heard wonderful things about this store. At the time we were contemplating a move to Ohio, so during one of our visits to the area, we took a trip to the store and really loved it. Three months later, over Memorial Day weekend, we visited again and placed our furniture order. We are expecting our first baby in late September/early October and were told it could take up to 12 weeks for the order to come in, so we figured better safe than sorry. Fast forward, today is September 12th, and the dresser we ordered is still not in the store and they have no estimated delivery date. At this point I would prefer to cancel the order and find a dresser somewhere reliable so that I can feel prepared for this baby which is our first, but they have not offered any refund or any alternative solution other than to wait for it. Furthermore, their customer service is horrible. While I've called the store every 3-5 days for the past 3 weeks asking for status updates, they have called be back exactly once and haven't offered a refund or a discount. Considering the sticker price of their products in comparison with every other local store, I expected much better. I sincerely hope my experience is atypical, but if it's happened to me it could happen to you. Don't purchase from this retailer if you want to be prepared for the arrival of your child - you'll save money buying elsewhere and you're unlikely to run into these troubles. Expecting a baby as a type-A person is stressful enough as it is. Feeling unprepared because you chose the wrong furniture vendor isn't something you need to chance.
