I am training to become a DONA certified doula. I am building my business, and while in the certification process I will be offering services pro bono. In order to be certified I need to be a doula for three live births, so building my business early is essential. My services include 1-2 pre-birth meetings. These meetings will include, but not be limited to; meeting and getting to know each other, building a birth plan, and discussing how I can serve your birth. I will also be present for the birth, start to finish. Lastly my services include 1-2 post-birth visits that include; help with nursing, post baby questions, and helping around the house. I will also be having an option for birth photography that includes any or all of the following: Maternity photos, birth photos and newborn baby shoot.

I am a mother of five beautiful children. I have experienced a wide range of births. Birth with drugs, birth without, and cesarean births. I have given birth four times with the use of drugs and without. I have also suffered loss. The name Harmony is the name given to the baby I miscarried. I have been a doula to my sister four times, and present in the cesarean birth of my adopted daughter. So as I start this process I have some experience already. Becoming a doula is a very strong passion in my life. Statistics and data show the amazing results of hiring a doula for birth. 25% shorter labors 60% reduction of epidural requests 50% reduction of cesarean rates 40% reduction of oxytocin and 30% reduction of analgesia use. A doula can help women to be courageous in the birth experience. I desire to serve and empower women to understand the strength their body is capable of and help women have the best birth experience possible. I understand birth can be a scary process, but I believe wholeheartedly that with knowledge of your body, birth and the power of mental preparation, birth can be redeemed from chaos to harmony.
