The staff is extremely helpful. If you're a hobbyist you will enjoy talking with Ryan about your coral. Prices are fair, and there's a great selection too.
First time there today. I was impressed. Great selection even with been told they was low on stuff. Good looking fish and coral at decent prices. Ordered a couple of things .. Hopefully they show up Thursday... Highly recommended.
Inventory is very low. Kyle knows his stuff if you have questions about fish or coral. Store could use some cleaning up as not very appealing. I go to other places in Louisville now first. Blue Star is 4th on my list of 4 in the area.
I had so many people recommend, very little selection on coral and very very pricey!!Completely bummed when I walked in definitely not what I was expecting from the hype I got to check it out. Sandy's has more of a selection for 1/3 the price in Louisville like 5 miles away and I rarely even go to sandys but I would choose them before going to this place. We were in there for about 15 20 minutes and no one even talked to my husband, my 15 year old, nor I before we left. If your willing to make the drive Bourbon Country Corals in Elizabethtown, KY has a large selection of corals, fish, tanks and accessories with extremely good prices.
The owner Ryan is very knowledgeable and friendly and is as excited for me as i am myself of my new reef system.
If you have a marine tank in the Louisville area and have not been to this place you are missing out!!!! They have a great selection and very reasonable prices. Awesome selection of corals and marine fish. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They can offer assistance to the novice or the veteran in the marine hobby.
Very friendly, knowledgeable on all coral and fish. I bought 2 bubble tip anemones and a fish, she also helped me with a new protein skimmer. I didn’t know if was good enough for my tank. She looked it up an let me know that it’s better then the one I have. I will definitely be back.
Outstanding service, amazing selection, lots of rare and hard to get corals, and extremely fair prices! This is one of the only shops you can walk in and feel right at home. Ryan doesn't mind answering questions no matter how silly you may think they are. It's hard to find people that are truly as passionate about their work as Ryan and his employees. He will never rush you into sale and to be honest I think he just gets excited to introduce people into his hobby. On that note I can't recommend this store enough wether your just starting a tank or an experienced reefer.
These guys are amazing! Worth the drive from one state line to the other!
What can I say? The store is FANTASTIC!!! Incredible staff, really ready to help you meet your reefing goals. I had a couple of issues with a new tank, and Ryan went above and beyond to help me out. Got the tank back on track in no time! Couldn't have done it without his help. The stock is always incredible, corals are out of this world. I attended the Customer Appreciation Day last weekend and beyond my wildest dreams I walked away with the frag pack from the raffle!!! 14 of the best frags I've ever had in my tank, completely took the reef to the next level. And, in less than a week, at least 3 new polyps from these frags alone. Not only are they the best looking pieces in the tank rastas and utter chaos just to name a couple, but they are super healthy as well! -One happy customer
