We are a full service small animal veterinary hospital serving Overland Park, KS and surrounding areas. We take pride in offering state-of-the-art compassionate care for your four-legged companions. Blue Valley Animal Hospital is led by Dr.Brad Spain who brings over 15 years of experience in veterinary medicine. We are proud to offer 24 hour emergency care as well as medical, surgical, orthopedic, dental, internal medicine, and nutritional counseling to our clients. We also have a large boarding facility and groomer on staff to help with all of our furry family members' needs!

We have been taking our dogs here for about 5 years now and we have never had a bad experience. When one of our dogs got cancer they checked in on us all the time, and when we had to put her down they treated us like family. We usually see Dr. Spain, but all of the doctors are top notch.
Brought my dog in to check out BVAH. Searching for a new vet & this was highly recommended. My dog wasn't as nervous in the exam room. She usually tries to hide, but here, she laid down on the tile floor. Everyone - the front desk assistant, the vet tech, and the vet, were all personable and kind. The vet took time to talk with me, then he looked my dog over and pointed out something significant about my dog that had not been noticed at her previous vet. We will be back for her next checkup. This is a good place for pets!
Absolutely love Dr. Rogers at Blue Valley Animal Hospital. We bring our Viszla and Golden to her. She is thorough, not an alarmist, and so good with their totally different temperaments! I definitely recommend her!
The empathy and kindness my wife and I have experienced from this place is wonderful. They were so considerate when we had to help our Corgi cross the rainbow bridge. Then, later they sent flowers and a card! That was so fantastic! I truly believe they care about the animals that are their patients.

We have been using Blue Valley Animal Hospital for about 4 years. We own two dogs, both rescues. Happy with the services they provide. We have boarded our dogs here once too, they did fine. They offer extended hours/urgent care on Mon - Wed.
Have been going to Blue Valley Animal Hospital for 6 years since we moved back to KC. We've always enjoyed our interactions with Dr. Spain. When we had a medical need for our dog, we were told it would be several weeks for an appointment. They told us we would be better off finding a new vet if we needed an appointment sooner, and even gave us 3 recommendations. I was floored. I sent an email to the group with my concerns which was never responded to. The area has experienced exceptional growth over the last 5 years, and I'm happy they are busy. It's just a shame they've chosen to push out existing clients in the process.
Dr. Spain and all the staff here are awesome! After we adopted our dog a few years ago, we chose this clinic not only because they were nearby, but after our initial visit, it was clear they are all truly dedicated their profession and love taking care of all their patrons fur babies. The whole crew are super friendly and pleasant to work with. They are very fairly priced, and offer onsite doggy daycare and kennel which is a huge plus. We love this clinic.
Receptionist, vets and staff are welcoming and professional. Our little guy always gets lots of love when we go in. Quite a busy place so it is crutial to make an appointment for non-emergency situations. If there is an emergency, there's an ED for pets close by that we go to. I'd definitely recommend clients to discuss costs upfront for services and be sure to keep receipts in a folder if puppy package is purchased ahead of time. There have been many occasions where staff wouldn't know about it and accidently charge me for services already prepaid for. I do appreciate the staff being open and transparent about costs as well, as I don't want to come in surprised to know how much is owed. Overall, I do like how small and intimate the place is. You know who the receptionist, techs and vets are. When you schedule an appointment, you don't have those lengthy waiting room waits. They get straight to the point, get done what's needed and you're on your way.
