I’m currently sitting in the Menorah Medical Center ER and this has to be the laziest nursing staff I have ever seen. I asked to be unhooked from an IV 20 minutes ago because I had to pee, but no one came. I unhooked myself, went to the bathroom, and left it unhooked, and still not even one nurse has come in. It’s been 40 minutes and It’s still unhooked. Next time, maybe a patient should just pee the bed, as that might get them to come sooner. Oh, they also seem to just leave syringes laying around in patients rooms. I don’t know about most hospitals, but I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen this. Luckily, I’m not some drug addict.
I was born at downtown Menorah, my mom said it's always had a great reputation with its name. I had my first experience with them this past week, and they are all nothing short of amazing. The atmosphere felt inviting and comforting given where you are. Every single staff member has a great attitude and know how. Over the top polite, caring, and have the time to talk with you about any concerns or questions you may have. I had imaging done, and it was so simple to be able to walk out with a disc in hand minutes after I was up and off the table. I wish every hospital was so courteous and caring.
I was a patient on the telemetry floor and I was amazed and very pleased with the care that I received. The professional nurses were outstanding. Their knowledge and delivery of care was outstanding. I rarely summoned a nurse as they anticipated my needs and were always there. What a caring and knowledgeable group. They not only met my physical needs but were very supportive emotionally. I wish I had specific names but was too ill to remember.
I typically don’t do reviews but the service was just so amazing!! From the people in the ER to follow up appointments. The staff were very friendly and caring, and did their very best to help you and and have empathy. Also add in that you get several calls after asking you if you need help scheduling anything, and then another call asking if you need help with anything else! Amazing care, thank you to all the care providers.
My mom fell and when she was being checked out, they found some underlying health issues and took her to the ICU- she got great care while there. Because of her fall she was barely able to move on her own had some broken bones and was very sore, I should also note that she is very skinny and should have been recognized as a bed sore risk. She was then transferred to a normal room and her care dropped drastically. They never rotated her, she developed a bed sore but when asked about the sore developing, they told us it was dry skin and they were putting lotion on it. By the time she moved to a rehab facility, this was a full blown bed sore which just got worse in the understaffed rehab. Long story short, she had to have surgery and ended up back at this hospital where she again got terrible care. The surgeon never came out to talk to us after the surgery to tell us anything. She hadn't eaten all day and got back to her room at 7PM absolutely starving- we asked the nurses if she could eat and what she could eat and they asked "why wouldn't she be able to eat?" They had no idea that she had literally just gotten back from surgery. Absolutely ridiculous! They never came to the room in a timely manor, she would sit wet which was not good for the wound or the wound vac, no one seemed to know how to work the wound vac- which was not only frustrating, but scary! The worst part was when we thought she was developing another bed sore- a whole week after surgery and when bringing the concern to them about another sore, they finally put her on a rotation schedule. Almost every time we went up there to see her, the actual nurse was nowhere to be found and we had interns helping us with my mom. Terrible communication with updates too. One day a nurse on the floor came in because we couldn't find anyone else, while helping us she mentioned a possible blood clot in my moms lung that she noticed while working with her a few days before and asked my mom if anything was done about it.... They did do a chest x-ray that week but she didn't know why and the rest of us, her family wasn't even in the loop. Never got the results from that either... Two stars because the ICU care was good.
My dad recently had surgery at Menorah. As a nurse myself and a family member I was blown away from entry to exit. We entered and were greeted immediately. We were walked to the surgical area and dad was taken back right away. The waiting area had private family "nooks" or more open seating available. There were charging stations, tables to work or eat at and an update board. All of this seemed to ease the anxiety of waiting. Beautiful grounds and cafeteria. The ICU waiting was equally accommodating. The staff all smile and greet as they buzz through the hallways. Our ICU nurses Julie and Joe were incredibly kind and helpful. I cant say enough about our experience at Menorah!
Dr Conaway and his entire staff are absolutely wonderful. We could not have asked for anything to have been done better. From the first hello to the end of my husband's procedure we were reassured to know that their priority was for his care and comfort. Many thanks!
Everyone I encountered was very kind and helpful. I haven’t been there in years and was very impressed with the positive changes in the facility. It seemed more spacious, cleaner and more modern. I appreciated the beauty of the landscaping too. My technician was very kind and reassuring during my mammogram. The dressing rooms were very clean and organized too.
Everyone was fantastic! From intake through recovery, everyone was friendly, professional and caring. Diane, the nurse preparing me for surgery was great including the painless insertion of the IV. Dr. Wyatt paid attention to my gene study results this made my anesthesia experience successful. Dr. Soliman, the surgeon, prepared me well and did an excellent job. Kelsey, my nurse in recovery was kind and helpful. If you have to have outpatient surgery, this is about as good as it gets.
The facility was very well maintained, beautifully equipped and comfortable. The specialty surgery unit was great. I had the most amazing nurses. My 24 hour stay exceeding my expectations. I felt very well cared for and very comfortable in my room.
