Lost property of mine was turned into this station. I had my phone number in it and they called me to pick it up. The first time I arrived, the person on duty did not have the right key to get it for me even though I had been told it would be available. However I called and arranged a new pickup time and they had it waiting for me. So basically, they're fine. Not great, not terrible. They're like any other government service.
Do not ever call the police if you are in trouble in Brighton. It saddens me that nothing has changed in all these years. When I was 16 I called the police because my stepfather hit me and they did NOTHING even though they clearly saw he was rude and didn’t care that they were there. And now I am 28 and moved back home because my mom wanted me to and hoping things would be different now in his old age. He attacked me and my mom had to hold him back. The second time he did, I pepper sprayed him because I saw his fist coming towards me. He is around 6ft tall and big. I sprayed my mom by accident too because she tried jumping infront of him to PREVENT him from hitting me. I called the police for help and was hiding in the bathroom until they came and it resulted in me getting arrested. I was HIDING from this man. This man also has a record of domestic violence towards my mom. Now I have a record due to these careless police officers that don’t know how to do their job. It disgusts me. I am a hardworking mother with people of substance in my life and would be devastated and embarrassed for anyone to see such a charge.
Nice guys, very responsive to non emergency calls: I’ve called about car alarms and downed electrical wires. My dog got out once and not knowing what to do we called the police. They notified the dispatcher and they actually saw him, caught him and brought him home. The officer who brought him had a dog himself and just wanted to help out. Can’t do better then that for community policing.
As a former Civil Servant, I’m disgusted at the poor attitude and lack of concern for the law I’ve personally witnessed from these officers. I have not seen them all, but the ones I have, need to remember why they became Police Officers and the oath that they swore. I’d trust the homeless man panhandling on the corner before I would put an ounce of faith into any of the officers I’ve had to meet due to someone else’s restraining order. Yes, this review is being written by someone who was not even directly involved. Just happened to witness this poor display of Civil Service over and over as an individual went in and tried to get a sense of security through the Boston Police. Which D-14 has failed miserably. The complete and blatant disregard for the public’s safety has left me to think/feel as though these officers are doing nothing more than stealing a paycheck. I haven’t witnessed any actual police work from any of these individuals to feel as though my tax dollars are being well spent on the cities police force. Don’t forget ladies and gentlemen of the badge, you’re there to serve and protect whether you feel like it or not. Don’t like the rigors of the job? Quit! Does this police department always leave women out in the rain at 1am on new years eve, after towing their car without probable cause? Only to search their vehicle to find nothing. I will be getting that officers Badge number and name. We will Bring this to court. I have encountered many phenomenal officers in MA, however these "men" are a willful disgrace.
Car crashed into me, driver had no license or id, I could not drive my car home. Called the police to get a police report made and the cop told me they would not send anyone unless the cop had witnessed it himself then hung up on me. absolutely disgusting, feeling very upset and neglected by the ones I felt trusting in.
When I was driving on western ave, allston, I wanted to do u-turn. I saw allston police officer in construction area. I asked him to help me to do u-turn. He hit the hood with a fist and asked me where I am going. My dauther was frightened and start crying.Officer said me to go away or he will arrest me.He is not post to do this.I dont know his firs an last name, but he is acting verry bad!!!
I am very disappointed with the brighton police had an accident yesterday 6/20/2016 the 1:45 in the afternoon. someone hit my car I called police and asked me if I had somebody hurt I said no just hung up the phone the other person called immediately came a policeman and heard only the version of the person was wrong and told me to shut up and I heard was prejudiced with me because I'm a maid I am very sad I had no right to defend myself. I'm honestly people working very hard with my job and I pay every thing to leave in this city very very sad
I was injured by two of brighton officers and they had the audacity not to tell me who they are. They also dragged my service dog away from me. I will be suing
The police hang up on me too I saw someone mentioned in previous review, before I could finish reporting what happened... I did call again and not sure if same person or another person took my call.
