Called the camp ground got a hold of Carol Ann she was able to make room for us. The road to there is a little rough but was totally doable with our big rig. 36 ft Class A with toad. We were greeted by Andrea and her daughter. We were able to pull in to our spot with our tow vehicle attached. Wow what a beautiful, peaceful campground. You don’t even have to leave the campground to enjoy the wild life. Well maintained and just cute set up. There is not a bad space in this campground.Go down and walk on the river and just get lost in your thoughts! The rocks on the river has such characters . So many things can be created! There was a problem with our rig. Lyn was so gracious to let my husband use his tools and shop to fix it . Andrea, the camp host was full of information on sight seeing. Went to Lost Maples well wroth it. Hill country state park is real close also well wroth it. Just 45 minutes away from San Antonio. This campground is in our top 10 list!!!
This place was wonderful! In the heart of the cowboy capital, Boulder Dash is right on the medina river. The place has magical solar lights and whimsical decor everywhere! The owners and host are the most gracious and friendly folks, who treat you like family. There is plenty to do in bandera dude ranch horse riding, rafting, stargazing! Or just hang out on the various terraces and fire pits on Boulder Dash to soak in the serenity! Thanks for the awesome time! Playground: Rock painting for the young at heart!! Restrooms: They turned an old horse trailer into a full bathroom!!!! See pics. Dog-friendliness: This place is the ultimate in dog friendly! Picnic area: Picnic on the river, overlooking the river or at you private campground.
We had a very peaceful and relaxing Christmas at Boulderdash this year. Andrea was a great host during our stay. The roads were a little rough and windy but well worth it. It accommodated our 43 FT Class A motor home. We enjoyed the abundance of wildlife and the great walking trail along the river. Highly recommend.
Boulderdash is the best place to go! Our family is from Houston and we needed a getaway before the beginning of school. It was peaceful and serene. We love Hill Country and this spot did not disappoint. The water was low so we had to walk a little way to find a spot where we could submerge but it was well worth it. The cabin was perfect for our family of 5 and our 2 dogs. Everything about it is well thought out! We definitely recommend this spot for a vacation.
Boulderdash is family owned and operated. The owners, Lyn and Carol-Anne, and Andrea the hostess were very friendly and helpful. The peace and quiet and the wildlife made our six day visit very pleasant.
Andrea, Lyn, and Craol-Anne were extremely helpful, accommodating, and friendly! Great park with tent and RV sites as well a cozy cabin for rent. Can't wait to come back!
Very nice folks. However, we could not sleep because of dogs & coyotes barking & howling all night The Medina River was a stream. The bathrooms were private & seemed cleaned.
My family and I stayed for 2 nights. The place was great. Andrea was very helpful and greeted us as we pulled up to the camp site. My kids enjoyed the water and fishing. The whole site was well kept and restrooms also. Seeing deer in the morning with a cup of coffee was nice. Would definitely visit again soon. Thanks again for your hospitality!
We visited this park for 2 nights. It was amazing. The camp hosts are so helpful and generous. The sites are breath taking. So quiet, peaceful, and tight knit. We will be back.
If you are ever in this area, THIS is the spot to camp. So many things to compliment, from the absolutely amazing scenery not only of the river, but also the surrounding hills, to the very clean and well kept camp sites and bathrooms, and of course the fabulous and extremely kind hosts. My husband and I hunkered down here 3/11/22-3/13/22 for our 2 year anniversary and could not be happier throughout our entire stay. So much wildlife just in the park, lots of beautiful birds of all kinds and colors, gorgeous hawks flying overhead, and swarms of the notorious vultures that live in these hills. And deer everywhere!! The hosts gave us an extremely warm welcome and helped us whenever we needed, always quick to respond to any and all of our questions. They were even thoughtful enough to give us a happy anniversary card as well as a beautiful painted rock. They have an amazing climate controlled bathroom that was extremely clean and the shower had fantastic water pressure. Absolutely loved this place, and we are very sad to leave. We will most definitely be back, hopefully for longer!!
