Sit back, relax, and enjoy the sunset at this little slice of heaven near Golden Acorn Casino. This KOA is one of the friendliest we’ve visited. It’s quiet, clean, full of fun things to do, and the staff there really makes this place stand out. James and Mike were such great hosts to our group! Our first impression was a good one - when we approached the front door of the office, Mike, with his signature cowboy hat and warm smile, opened the door and greeted us. James was at the front desk to help get us checked in. He was super informative and gave us the run down of all the great amenities at the KOA. We left feeling very excited for the weekend ahead. The grounds are kept very clean. The community restrooms/showers and pool/hot tub areas we visited during our stay were very neat and tidy. The real highlight about this place for us was the animals. Oh my goodness, the ostriches! They were such a fun addition to a great camping weekend. There was also adorable pigs who just had piglets, chickens and baby chicks that we were able to feed with the farm treats you can purchase at the front office for $1. Very fun for adults and kids alike! We stayed in an RV site, which had full hookups and worked perfectly. The site was shaded with beautiful trees, and even in the middle of summer provided us with a comfortable place to enjoy our weekend getaway. Also, the stars at night are unbelievable and not to be missed! I wish I could spend every weekend at this KOA. I highly recommend booking a nice quiet stay here to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You’ll enjoy every moment of your experience at this perfect spot!
My wife and I are full time Rv'ers. We love being out here! Beautiful and off the normal path of highway noises you typically encounter at a KOA. The night sky is to die for! Highly recommend coming out! Great space for full timers!Service: 5/5
I am very happy to finally stay here. I have visited a few KOAs in the past 4 years. this is my favorite by far. They have a small petting zoo. Piggies horses gaits and ostriches. You can feed the animals with food for sale in the office. They also have koi pond to relax by over all an awesome place. Playground: Swings
I’m well aquatinted with the staff at boulevard KOA And in the last year I’ve seen the owners be downright abusive to their employees. They get paid far less than minimum wage even though they work 10-12 hour shifts at times and often work 6-7 days a week. The owners also push employees to try and set up side gigs on top of their regular work through the campground on their own time for instance one employee was stocking the campground store completely out of their own pocket and when they were let go the owner refused to compensate them for the items they purchased for the store. Another was made to stay at the campground for 10 days in a row so 12 hour shifts, and 24 hours on call, not only running the day to day office and check in work but also completing maintenance task around the camp, when the owner returned he refused to pay the employee for the extra hours and instead payed them the same as if he had worked a average 5 day week. They have the attached ranch but the animals are often malnourished. One employee acquired a goat for the campground on his own time and was never compensated. The goat would only eat alfalfa and wouldn’t touch the hay they fed the other animals, rather than purchasing alfalfa they elected to just not feed the goat at all. When the animals die, which they often do, the owners their employees dump them on neighboring BLM land. They’ve multiple times fired live-in employees with no prior notice and then withhold their last payment leaving the employee with no place to stay and no money. One employee brought their own RV for the campground to rent out to customers. When this employee was let go with no prior warning the owner said he would charge the employee for everyday the rv stayed on the premises even though the campground had been using it for guest lodging for years. The campground could be a beautiful place but the owners are bad people.
Awesome place! Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Exceptionally clean! It's amazingly peaceful A great place for a family weekend, couples retreat, or long-term stay.
This is one of the BEST KOAs we have ever stayed at! The property is very nice, has lots of trees, tons of adorable animals to visit we loved the pigs and ostriches, a great space to let dogs run around, clean bathrooms, and every site had hookups. The staff was also very friendly and helpful, giving us tons of information about the animals and answering any questions we had. While we could only stay one night, we highly recommend this KOA for those who are looking for a peaceful, clean, and safe campground that offers a nature experience!
Karen and everyone are awesome! We couldn't have imagined a better time here! My family comes in from Illinois to visit and stays here also! Olga's a wonderful local lady who makes her delicious PUPUSAS here on the weekend!! The grounds are spotless, everyone is very kind, the animals are a fun addition . The store has great gifts, a lot made by talented local people
Everything about the campground was great, the actual owner along with the camp workers were very nice but unfortunately the owners son ruined our experience with his rudeness and attitude towards myself & my girlfriend. We were visiting the campground because my girlfriend was actually going to start working there at the beginning of July but after a couple of unpleasant and awkward interactions with the son of the owner, with him being rude and extremely unprofessional I decided that our stay was over and we would not be coming back. It's a shame that a campground with such potential has to deal with an inexperienced and unqualified person providing a negative customer experience. The young man has a lot to learn about customer service and how to speak to people especially customers without being rude.
Nice, clean, quiet place. Nice swimming pool, playground, clubhouse. Everyone was friendly and nice. Well stocked store. No restaurant on the property but lots of choices close by for good food. 8pm to 8am quiet time
We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning. The zip line alone would have kept our kids fully entertained, but add in pig races, a nice playground, koi pond, ostriches...and so much more...we are leaving with some great experiences and memories made. The camp hosts are super friendly and helpful and interested in providing a great experience.
