As my go-to for the last couple of years... I really like it. Great place to study alone or with friends. You can use the computers for 90 mins but you can extend it however long you need. Great librarians will help you with anything. You can borrow books for pretty much the entire semester, but ilyou also extend it through online. There is no need to go in person. You can reserveat least 2 people study rooms to... P.S. I'm really reviewing a library... what a !
The Library is one of the best parts of this school. unlike the other building which are ancient, and should be torn down for the good of humanity. The library is modern and well air conditioned. There is plenty of computers to use on every floor. Also, pretty quiet for studying.
Love this place! Its available to CUNY students and members of certain bk colleges like LIU, SFC, Pratt ... There are two rooms for quiet study -1st and 4th floor. Highly recommend!
Unlike a lot of places on the campus, the library is actually funded well, based on all the computers and books they have. It is unfortunate as of writing this Feb. 2022 the downstairs area is closed, but it is large. I visited at 5 PM so my review may be bias since not so many students are present at that time but there was a lot of seats and facilities available.
I pay $100 per year to become a friend of the library and gain access. It's an amazing place to study and do private work in a peaceful, clean, and quiet area. I'm an NYU alum, and this place beats Washington Square or Columbia. It also has a New England feel to it. If I had one complaint, a minor one because they have terrific computers, it would be for me to be able to use wifi in addition to current students.
It's a pretty cool and quite place to be in to do some work, assignments e.t.c. people are friendly and staff are nice.
Nice place with silent rooms but it should stay open for longer. Baruch’s library is always closing at midnight and is open for 24 hours on finals week. It’s not fair for BC students.
Excellent library—probably the best in the city for studying in a legitimately quiet environment. I have been all over: NYPL Schwarzmann, several BPL branches including Grand Army, my own home, and other CUNY libraries. None beat this one. The facilities are modern and well kept. There are plenty of spaces to sit down and plug in. If you require ultra quiet space, check out the fourth floor quiet zone. No music, no talking, nothing see attached photo. Ensure you have a CUNY ID or you more than likely will encounter vigilant security guards who will turn you away. As of this writing, the hours are limited on Friday through Sunday, unfortunately. Personally grateful for this facility because it is difficult to find a quiet place to study in NYC. I hope everyone continues to respect the facilities and the environment and keep the Brooklyn College library quiet and safe.
Excellent library, very clean. Lots of resources, great computers, fast and new. Lots of quite rooms and group rooms, Librarians are great resource as well. Overall very impressed. Great facility, considering this is a state not private college.
Unless you find room in the reading rooms don't expect to have peace and quiet ANYWHERE in this library....The librarians spend the whole day surfing the web instead of making the rounds to quiet the obnoxious and immature students that come there to hang out instead of study, but are always helpful when approached about books, except for the lady with the cushy office in the basement. She closes herself in doing god knows what and always seems annoyed when she actually has to get up and assist you.
