Reserved a moving truck for 8 am online. This store doesn't open until 9. Waited for 30 minutes in line once they opened because apparently only one person was working. Truck was dirty, with windowshield almost completely covered with bugs from the last renter. Check engine light turned on shortly after leaving the store. Strap to pull down the truck's back door was held together by ducktape when we got it and ripped on its second use. When returned, the employee at this store a different one apologized, saying the truck should not have been given to us in this condition. Budget company may be fine, but I would recommend anywhere other than the Merced store on 16th from this limited experience.
ZERO STARS. a joke of a business. Booked &paid my sedan rental months in advance showed up only to find out they gave my car away. Erica & Cheryl proceeded to explain there was nothing they could do and there were no cars but after 30 minutes found a Tacoma truck with BALD tires and when we pointed that out took another 30 minutes and they magically pulled another truck a 1500 truck out their butts expecting me to take that on an 8 hour road trip with my kids with gas at $6. Cheryl and Erica were by far the worst attendants. After another 2 hours on the phone with customer service and 9 yes NINE transfers later I was assured we would have all money back within 2 weeks
No after closing hours dropbox. If my train leaves before you open, customer service has "No answers."
Nice people and however i didn't get the car ordered, the replaced one was fine. The only thing i didn't like was that i ordered specific gps and i did not get one. But i did pay for it at planning 9 months. And i still had to use my own phone. Can i get a refund for this? But service was oke.
I was a bit worried about this car rental having seen their online reviews. However, my experience was 5 stars! I booked and prepaid online, thinking I'll need to pay additionally for insurance when picking the car up, but it turned out it was already included. Great. I got Hyundai Elantra with 20k miles on the clock in mint condition. Car did great on Tioga Road on multiple days - no need for any SUVs there, in fact this little Hyundai handling and low suspension helped on curvy roads like this. Given low speed limits in USA more HP isn't necessary, but it ends up as a bit"soul -less" car. But big plus for fuel economy. Pick up time -20 mins, return 5 mins. Deposit returned on the spot. Can't wish for anything better. Great value for money. Thanks!
The customer service is not consistent. Some staff are accommodating others are harsh when overwhelmed. Extremely long wait time to pick up and drop off. Can take several hours. Pick up once took me 2 hrs. Todays return took over 30 min. Difficult to work with. Seems to busy for the demand of the community. Will avoid this location.
It"s a joke. Made an online reservation, went there, get told that no car is available."there is nothing I can do"!! Even for the next day she won't make a reservation or could tell, if they will have an available car. One star for the comment: Enterprise is not far from here. Try it there. Follow that advise!! No problems there!!
My experience was great. The lady helping me did everything she could to make it a great experience. First vehicle I got had a nail so she quickly did the exchange. She was not pushy at all about extra services. Great place to rent cars. Probably my to go place even if i have to drive 40 mins. Thank you!!!
FRIENDLY STAFF. The only reason why I gave this a 4 out of 5 is because its a smaller location that doesn't have the "fast break" services or that much inventory. If you ordered online at least a day prior it will take way less time to get your car than if you just walk in. Im used to the fast service of airports but this location really isn't that slow if you ordered in advance. It's usually one person thats doing everything so you have to be patient. Overall decent experience even without the fastbreak service.
My brother actually rented an SUV from here. He seemed happy with the service given here. My late Father chose Budget over their competitors many times in the past and always had good things to say about them.
