Budget Car Rental

After receiving the run around online via chat and over the phone after the website made an error with my booking, the agent at the desk in the Lafayette airport was gracious, understanding, and very helpful in getting me a one way rental, for only 24 hours instead of 6 days per the phone agent. This was excellent customer service, especially considering I was in a frustrating situation after getting in an accident the day before while traveling and needed to get home. After this experience I will prefer to go to the desk in person!

Arrived at the Lafayette Louisiana Airport 3 hours prior to reservation of 7:30pm. Greeted by a Tariq. Tariq advised that I'm early and there are no vehicles available, also if he gives a vehicle even 1 minute sooner then arrival that I would be charged an extra day. I left the counter and decided to wait to my reservation because I prepaid. Another Gentleman that acted as a manager walked over to me about 5 minutes later to advise there is nothing that they can do but they can charge me another day if I want the vehicle sooner. I advise no thank you and decided to wait. At 7:23pm I went to the counter and asked if it was too early to get the vehicle due to reservation at 7:30pm. Tariq advised no and that he had a vehicle ready I asked what vehicles and he said a red vehicle and Grey vehicle. I asked for the Grey vehicle and Tariq gave me the keys and a budget brochure which I thought was a receipt. I went outside immediately located the vehicle outside. As soon as I opened the vehicle doors the odor of cigarette smoke and air freshener was coming from the car. The mats were wet from the air freshener and clear burn marks on the driver side door. I immediately went back to the budget counter at 7:31pm. Tariq was not at the counter. I called his name several times.Tariq came to the counter rolling his eyes with a smirk on his face. I asked Tariq for my receipt and to switch vehicle do to the condition. Tariq printed a receipt and gave it to me as he advised me that the vehicle that he gave me was not serviced and he could not switch it out to the red Rav4 that was available. I asked why and he rolled his eyes and yelled at me saying,"what do you want me to do, I can't switch the vehicle". As I assessed my receipt it showed that I picked the vehicle up at 4:16pm and was charged an extra $96 dollars. I asked Tariq if he tried to help me or overcharge me? I explained to Tariq that I waited so that I would not be charged an additional day. Tariq rolled his eyes a final time before walking away from the counter whileI was speaking to him. I went to the vehicle and immediately called budget rental. Tariq walked outside and stood outside in a corner adjacent from the vehicle. Which was extremely rude and uncomfortable. The vehicle maintenance service light was on, Brakes squeaking, steering wheel shaky when going over 55 mph, low washer fluid. I was attending funeral services and called budget to switch the vehicle however budget said that I would have to be on standby. My kids and I Had to attend funeral services smelling like cigarettes smoke in my hair and clothes. When I returned the vehicle 6 day's later. There were 2 females that advised me if I I if I wanted a receipt I had to give them the mileage from the vehicle. I retrieved the mileage and givin a receipt. As I walked away to go towards Tsa, I heard a familiar voice., it was Tariq laughing he had came from the back of the office office just to taunt as he did day's before. Please beware of this place. Budget used to be top of line I advise to remove all of your personal information even your credit card and license information. The breech will be from the employees like Tariq, un trustworthy and disgusting service

Picked up a filthy car. Car was not inspected prior to rental. Extreme charges on my credit card. Doesn't have a phone that connects. Customer service department is absolute trash. You cannot get in touch with this company...Meanwhile they have your credit card and have no qualms about touching you.

I made a reservation, paid in advance and when I when to puck up the car, there were not cars available. Now I have to wait 3 to 10 days for a reimbursement. Really? Terrible services. Waste of time and money

Please take advantage of their precheck option, great feature allows you to load your info prior to picking up your rental, saved so much time ,unnecessary questions at the counter. Good customer service as well.

Easy access to vehicle, I had an easy return with key drop for a 6 am flight

Very satisfied with Lafayette airport Budget Rental. Carmen did an excellent job checking us out and back in. Will definitely use them again!!

Car was filthy, sticky spills of soda or sugary drink on the panel, and used bottles of half way empty drinks under the seats. License plate did not match VIN number per police officer who pulled me over due to random check and VIN number only showed up vehicle was made in Canada. Do not recommend Budget in Lafayette. Customer did not offer car i reserved, instead you get what they have sometimes no even close to what you reserved.
