I remember when this place used to be really busy, and you had to wait to get onto the patio. After our experience today, I can understand why. On a Saturday afternoon, there was no one inside and a handful of people out on the patio. To start, there were not enough tables with umbrellas. The drinking glass that was brought out was dirty or otherwise heavily stained. The drink I ordered had a bug in it. The margherita pizza was $18 and way overpriced. It was overloaded with cheese and did not taste good. I couldn't finish eating it. The calamari was actually good, but the container that the sauce came in with it was oversized, making it difficult to dip the calamari in it. The staff were not overly friendly or attentive. The only nice part was the view of Fairy Lake.
In past years, Cachet was a very popular spot. On a warm, sunny day you were lucky to find a spot on their patio. We visited there last night, a sunny Saturday, and the restaurant, both inside and on the patio was strangely QUIET. After ordering and receiving our meals, we understood why. The food was low quality, and the server was borderline rude. I ordered the Margherita Pizza, which was basically store bought NAAN bread with pizza sauce, mozzarella and four basil leaves, and the cost was $18! Don’t get me wrong, I’m willing to spend money on something if the quality is good, but there is no way this meal was worth $18. The others in my group were equally dissatisfied with their meals. Sadly, the ONLY good thing about Cachet now seems to be their patio. The other restaurants in the area were packed! Our final thoughts: We might return for a beer some time, but we’ll dine at another restaurant first! Very disappointing! **The pizza looks like a decent size in the picture, but I placed the fork next to it to give a more accurate representation.
You're coming here for the view of fairy lake. That's it. The food is low quality, tiny and overpriced. Here's a picture of the $18 margherita pizza... Yes, it is the size of my hand. A female hand. And if you're thinking this is from the kids menu - nope, this is their main menu. For reference, we paid about $60 after tax and tip for a salad, pizza and a beer each.
If I could give this restaurant a zero, I would. Firstly the waitresses were rude. The first one made it her point to ignore us for no reason. After waiting 20 minutes. I had to go in to find someone. The plates were dirty, and the food was mediocre. Absolutely no flavour. But what makes it worse was the service. The waitress started ignoring us. She only became friendly when we’re leaving and it was time for a tip. Then the busboy had the audacity to tell my husband that we better have left a good tip. Overall a very unprofessional establishment. You can also see it with the owners response to reviews. Extremely unprofessional. We should have read the reviews first. If you can’t take criticism and respond with rudeness, then you shouldn’t be in the service industry.
Location is amazing. Food was pretty decent, but honestly expected more. Good fries were nice! Baked Reuben weird looking sandwich as per busboy was ok, not a fan. My friend had PEI mussels and they were good. Wedge salad was decent. Cheesecake and creme brûlée were really good. I’m giving a credit to the wait staff for being closed for so long, hope service gets better.
Good prices considering inflation has raised costs. Great looking food. Juicy fresh flavourful burger. Handmade onion rings and crisp fries. Crunchy big Ceasar salad with well prepared chicken. Friendly helpful service "Taylor". Meant to take a picture of the burger but ate it 1st. Oops. Next time
We showed up first but she served the couple behind us first, we ordered one food and she provided only one glass of water and there was lipstick mark on it, they did not have pizza, so we ordered cheeseburger but did not have beef either. We changed it to chicken crossent. The sandwich was BURN. $18 for a small burn sandwich. Even one star is alot for this restaurant. Food and service is awful since the management changed.
If I could give it 0 stars I would. Came with a friend because the location looked nice, patio right by the water. I'm not even sure where to begin... the service was terrible. There were two Ukrainian waitresses with absolutely no costumer service skills. Also, when we scanned the menu, a Ukrainian menu pops up... we wanted to order items from it but only after we're told that this menu was discontinued..... It wasn't busy at all and took 40 minutes to bring out two tiny pizzas and two appetizers. The size of thier portion is a joke... even my 4 year old stayed hungry after it. The prices are high for what you get and the food doesn't taste great. At the end we had to chase the waitress for 30 minutes to ask to pay. Would never come back there again. Also the entire patio has only 2 umbrellas for shade. And they don't have any take out boxes. I have never experienced anything like this before. The plates were also dirty.
Great location. Cycling and tripped over this gem! Busy spot! No tables available at the riverfront however large street side patio that was very accommodating. Menu selections for us included mussels, wedge salad and baked Reuben….a first but definitely not my last :0 Thank you Jennifer for a great meal and biking stop. We’ll be back!
Came here with a friend because their patio is nice. It’s right by the water so it’s a cute spot. However, a lot of fruit flies constantly flying around. Drinks are mediocre and food is not very flavourful. My margarita was made with lemonade instead of lime and white wine and garlic mussels tasted like they just poured white wine on top of the steamed mussels. Sauce was not given time to reduce.
