This campground is amazing. Sites are spacious and great views of lake from many sites. Only negative is the over an hour wait at dump station. There is only one and it’s on the one way road which made for some upset campers trying to leave that were tent camping. Overall love and we will go back.
Very nice little COE park. Level sites and most have views of the lake, and plenty of shade. We did not use the facilities. Roads leading to the park are narrow and overhanging trees are an issue for big rigs. We are almost 14 ft tall, and trees were a big issue. Due to the tree issue, we probably would not stay here again. We stayed here in 40ft class A RV towing a car.
Rules state no swimming even though online said there was. Washer is broken, so no laundry facilities. The bathhouse looks like an old bus stop and the showers back up so your standing in waste water the entire time you try to shower. Rusted and run down. No check in till 3pm and come 530 no one is there to tell you half the things you wanted to do here with your kids are not going to happen. It's pretty has a nice park but you might as well be dry camping since what they claim to offer isn't going to be there for you to use. Roads coming in are very small almost one lane.
This is another one of those Corps of Engineers gems, this time just north of Nashville. When approaching, make sure you stay on 31E until you reach Cages Bend Rd. Our GPS took us on some other roads that were narrow and full of low hanging branches. This is a small park and popular with the locals, so make your reservations early. I believe the water side sites are discounted at $17 instead of $15 with America the Beautiful passes. The bath house was dated but clean. There are also reasonably priced washers/dryers.
Everything was great on our stay except the camp ground host. He was kinda rude upon check in and could have been more friendly and understanding. Nearby activities: Close to town Safety: Peacefully and family friendly Food & drinks: 10 minutes from several restaurants Noteworthy details: Close to stores, gas stations, and nice camp ground
Very nice park to stay in when in the Nashville area. The sites were nice and level. It was quiet while we were there.Location: 5/5
Site 29 was not very good. It's 80% dirt , which turns to mud when it rains , which it poured the day I got there. Need to asphalt or concrete it.Service: 5/5
Wow, Wow, Wow we love this campground so much!! What a GEM this one is and super cheap for what you get here! From the guy in the Welcome Booth who goes up and above to help you in any way he can, to the restroom facilities being clean but needing some updating, laundy which is handy, each huge site has a concrete slab which is great with a nice picnic area to grill and entertain, with views that are breathtaking and overlooking the lake. All in all we can't wait to come back again and stay longer if possible!! this place is always FULL all week long every week so keep that in mind for booking your stay here
I received a great welcome the night I came in and the park is beautiful. However the difference in treatment was unbelievable. My husband is black and we were given a different set of rules by the camp host. I will not go in to details. I ask to see a copy and was told they were new and not in the books yet. When I called recreation.gov I was told there was no such rules. Discrimination was horrible. I have been a camper since 2017 and never felt like this before. I felt we we in danger and needed to leave we packed up that morning and left immediately. My 8 year could not understand why we were treated this way. Such a waste of a nice place to be hosted by such a racist person.
Nice, well kept campground. We go here every yearLocation: 5/5
